Should you take on clients while you’re studying for your certification? 🧐
My short answer? Yes! If you feel comfortable…
When I was in the midst of getting my CPT through NASM, I did a few things to build up my experience and confidence:
1️⃣ I got mentored by one of my close family friends who was certified and had been running her own successful business. I even helped run a couple of her group workouts!
2️⃣ I kept tabs on what I was learning and realized the only way I was going to gain experience + trust was to PRACTICE and implement what I was learning.
3️⃣ I started taking on clients at a lower price than what I eventually wanted to charge.
4️⃣ I trained and created programs for my family/friends as well as myself!
Reading the textbook and watching module videos is super important when it comes to knowing the science and reasoning in personal training, but the only way you’re going to build a successful business is to go out and teach! I’m not saying every soon to be certified fitness or health entrepreneur needs to do this (especially if you don’t feel comfortable yet), but it surely helps you gain confidence as a trainer. Even if you start small with family or friends, it’s a step in the right direction!
AND if you’re ready to start gaining experience and taking clients, but you don’t know how to create an offer that actually 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬 you those dream clients, you can learn exactly how in The Creating a Client Attracting Program FREE training! We’re going to cover knowing your ideal client in & out, how to find out what your ideal client is ready to buy, and mindset tips to avoid underpricing your new killer, client attracting offer because YOU DESERVE IT!
