Now listen to this: Kimani Ichung’wah’s father had two wives. Later, in his 60s, he reconnected with his old girlfriend from the Rift Valley, who had refused to marry him when they were teenagers. According to the eulogy read during the burial, after meeting again, the two revived their love despite the woman being married to another man and having eight children. Mzee went on to marry her, took in the eight children, paid their school fees, and even built each of them a home at Kambi ya Moto in Nakuru. Mzee Ichung’wah never drove automatic or second-hand cars. He never ate green vegetables his food was a meal served along side roasted meat and a blackcurrant soda, something that shocked doctors. He has died at the age of 105.
