Meru in the house!

“The Ameru Social Role of Gichiaro” by Father Zacchaeus Murianki sparked great interest at the Tai AfroPress stand during the just concluded Meru Regional Book Fair, organised by Kenya Publishers Regional Book Fair in Meru, Kinoru Stadium

A powerful cultural reflection rooted in identity, tradition, and social meaning this is the kind of work that keeps our heritage alive in print.

what is Gichiaro?
And that’s exactly where the conversation begins

🇰🇪 Happy Madaraka Day, Kenya!

Today, we celebrate the courage, resilience, and determination of those who fought for our nation’s freedom. As we reflect on how far we have come, we are reminded that true nation-building lies not only in honoring our past but also in shaping a future where every voice is heard and every life is valued.

On this day, we also stand in remembrance of the women and girls lost to femicide. Their stories matter. Their lives mattered. As a nation, may we continue advocating for justice, dignity, and safety for all.

At Tai AfroPress, we believe in the power of stories to inspire change, preserve our heritage, and build a more informed and compassionate society.

Happy Madaraka Day!

Every book holds a story. Every story holds a voice. And every voice deserves the chance to be heard.

As we continue creating awareness about the books and authors shaping conversations across Africa, we also take a moment to honor the women and girls whose stories were cut short by femicide in Kenya.

Today, we remember the queens we have lost—the dreamers, creators, leaders, mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends whose lives mattered and whose memories deserve more than silence. 🕯️💜

At Tai AfroPress, we believe in the power of stories to educate, inspire, and drive change. As we spotlight the incredible books available through our platform, we also stand in solidarity with all those advocating for a safer world where every woman has the freedom to live, thrive, and tell her own story.

Read. Learn. Share. Speak up.

Because every story matters, and every life does too.

Yesterday in Meru was one for the books .

From meaningful conversations at our stand to meeting passionate readers, writers, and lovers of African stories, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, curiosity, and creativity. There’s always something special about watching people discover a book that speaks to them — flipping through pages, asking questions, sharing recommendations, and simply enjoying the experience of literature together.

As Tai AfroPress, moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Creating space for African voices, stories, and ideas to be seen, heard, and celebrated will always matter to us.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, supported our authors, bought a book, shared a conversation, or simply came to experience the fair with us. Meru truly showed us love and we’re grateful to have been part of such an inspiring space.

Meet us today for day 3🤏🏿🤏🏿🤏🏿
