Those who read politics with optics shall tell you that this one is a well scripted version of POLI-TRICKS to weigh the heaviness of the name on the ground as they value and make some endorsements. Read the mood by subjecting the public to debates of your end game.

The MP for Westlands, Hon. Timothy Wanyonyi has distanced himself from Ford Kenya party, stating at a function that Ford Kenya is the only party he won't associate with. The congregation cheered him up after this mention.

Former CS Moses Kuria has once again proven that Kenyan politics has no off switch—even at solemn moments. Speaking during the requiem mass of the late Hon. Cyrus Jirongo at CITAM Church, Nairobi, Kuria, cheekily offered to buy the famous torch and hand it over to George Khaniri, instantly lighting up the congregation with nervous laughter.

The remark came amid the now-national torch debate, turning a sombre service into a brief comedy break. Mourners paused, politics smiled, and Kenyans online immediately imagined the torch being listed, transferred, or auctioned like prime political property.

In true Kenyan fashion, even grief couldn’t escape humour, symbolism, and satire. One thing is certain, the torch has officially become more famous than some politicians—and it hasn’t even been switched on yet.

This is politics as it is—not as it is sold. After elections, candidates shake hands, unite, eat and drink together in private, while voters are left believing the public drama of hatred and rivalry. Politicians understand one truth very well: elections end, life continues—but sadly, many voters don’t.

Breaking that script is the newly elected Kabuchai/Chwele MCA, Hon. Eric Wekesa, who chose honesty over theatrics. In a rare but refreshing move, he publicly united with his former rivals and joined residents at a funeral within Kabuchai/Chwele Ward—quietly teaching that politics should never outlive humanity.

The message was simple and loud: life after politics is real. To voters, the lesson is clear—learn from such leadership or keep being surprised when “enemies” laugh together after elections. Politics is seasonal; wisdom is permanent.
