"So I thought it was a good idea to fly by myself with a 2 yr old and a 5 year old 😐 we were standing in line in security, on the verge of tears because Wyatt was screaming and James was exhausted. Out of the blue, one mom stops the line for security and says “here, jump in front of me! I know how it is!” Wyatt fell asleep and I was trying to carry everyone’s carry-on when another mom jumps out of her place in line and says “hand me everything, I’ve got it”. When I said thank you to both of them they said “don’t you worry, we’re going to make sure you get on that flight.” The second woman takes evvvverything and helps me get it through security and, on top of all that, she grabs all of it and walks us to the gate to make sure we get on the flight. To top it all off, Wyatt starts to scream at take off before he finally falls back to sleep. After about 45 min, this angel 👇🏼 comes to the back and says “you look like you need a break” and holds Wyatt for the rest of the flight AND walks him all the way to baggage claim, hands him to blake, hugs me and says “merry Christmas!!”"

What makes big trees so special is that they are living legacies of ancient forests.
The oldest have been standing for up to 1,800 years, she said.
“They are the biggest living organisms we can feel, touch and even hug if we want to. They are a biological legacy of the past.”
This bulbous red cedar grows along the trail to the Cheewhat Giant (Canada's largest tree) in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve on Vancouver Island.

A boy brought the body of his younger brother, who was killed in the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, for cremation.
The photo was taken by U.S. Marin Corps photographer Joe O'Donnell. According to his testimony, the boy waited patiently for the cremation to finish without uttering a word or dropping a single tear - just a tightly pressed lip, Nagasaki. 1945.

It’s remarkable how much power one good person can have in shaping the life of a child. This , I’m thinking about Mrs. Caffiere. She was the school librarian at Seattle’s View Ridge Elementary. When I was 9 years old, she took me under her wing and taught me that my love of reading was a strength. To this day, I think about how she changed my life.
