Cambodia and Singapore have officially launched cross-border QR payments, linking KHQR with SGQR.
The first phase is now live at Changi Airport and about 1,000 stores, allowing Cambodians to pay instantly in riel.

Travel becomes smoother, cheaper, and fully digital for Cambodian visitors.

The central bank says this system will boost trade, investment, and tourism between the two countries.

Cambodia Assumes Presidency of La Francophonie Ministerial Meeting!

Cambodia officially took over the presidency during the handover in Rwanda.

The country confirmed that Siem Reap will host both the 2026 Ministerial Meeting and the Francophonie Summit. This marks one of Cambodia’s highest-profile diplomatic events.

Founded in 1970, the Francophonie welcomed Cambodia as a full member in 1993.

The Foreign Ministry said Cambodia will ensure the event is “successful, smooth, and impactful.”

Cambodia Rejects Thai Allegations of New Landmines

Cambodia has rejected allegations from Thailand claiming that new landmines were planted along the border, following an incident that injured three Thai soldiers on November 10.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the explosion occurred near the Temple of Preah Vihear, an area still affected by landmines left from past wars and not by any new activity.

Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord, signed on October 26, witnessed by the leaders of the US and Malaysia, and emphasised that the Kingdom has never and will never use new landmines.
