MILO cambodia Milo (ミロ) is a Japanese band in Siem Reap, Cambodia formed in 2007 by the pianist Aya Urata. It? Their dynamic yet absolute performance drew growing audiences.

In the late 2000s, there was a band executing countless lives on streets and clubs of Siem reap…, their name is "milo". The following year, gaining more and more fans. With the combination of the roots rock and the borderless sound -"milo"- the band gradually conquers the reputation as one of the biggest names as live bands in the whole west-east asia. In 2008, featuring cambodian vocalists, Perfo

rming in major venues as well as small restaurant. In August 2009, Tonlesap lake that is the biggest lake in westeastasia, they had "Tonlesap Lake Rock'n'Roll Show".The band played much in open air, the days like a pure and simple live band. Their performance, developed through thousands of live stages, was greatly acclaimed by affiliates and audiences. Later on, milo detemind the direction of their music. They play the Khmer music for the educational songs but arranged to ska music. In January 2012, they joined the event "F1000!" which is one of the biggest events in Siem Reap. Mayonnaise and Philippu join the band. This enabled the band to get hold of a free and powerful soul. and PARADISE goes on..



2000年代、アンコールワットのあるカンボジア・シェムリアップに多数のライヴを重ねるバンドがあった。その名は“milo”。圧倒的なパフォーマンスで動員を増やし、以降、ジャンルにとらわれない幅広い音楽性、すなわち“milo”で東南アジア屈指のライヴバンドとしての信頼を勝ち得ていく。

2008年からはカンボジア人ヴォーカリストを迎え、ライブを展開。フランスでもっとも有名な音楽祭フェタデラミュージックシェムリアップに招待され出演、熱狂のステージをみせた。

8月には東南アジア最大の湖トンレサップ湖にて「トンレサップ湖ロックンロールショー」を開催。大規模な会場でのライヴとオーディエンスに近いライブパフォーマンスを途切れることなく展開。
ライヴバンドとしての実力を見せつけたステージングでオーディエンスを含む関係各位の絶賛を浴びた。
9月にはIKTT主催のファッションショーに音楽として参加、様々な芸術とのコラボレーションを作り上げ、カンボジア国内にとどまらず日本でもその名を知らしめることとなった。

その後、彼らは音楽性を決めた。彼らはカンボジアの学校で教えられている曲をスカにアレンジし演奏することとなる。

2012年1月、シェムリアップの一大イベントでもある、「F1000!」イベントに出演。そのときからマヨネーズとフィリップが正式加入し、彼らの加入によりバンドはより自由でより強力なリズムを手に入れた。

留まることをしらないmiloは2012年で結成5周年を迎える。
5年を迎えるmiloは円熟期を迎えるよりというより過渡期を楽しんでいるように思える。

カンボジアの伝統織物を復興させた森本喜久男さん。森本さん率いるクメール伝統織物研究所主催の蚕の供養祭「蚕祭り」では、カンボジアに住んでいた時に毎年演奏させてもらい、大変お世話になりました。
カンボジア日本人会シェムリアップ支部の役員の方に声をかけていただき、森本さんのお話しをさせていただくことになりました。当日は森本さんの大好きなあの曲も演奏できればと思ってます。

昨日と今日、東京の代々木公園で行われるはずだったカンボジアフェスティバル、中止になってしまったので、喫茶木もれびから木もれびズのライブをお届けすることにしました。
このご時世にスマホを持っていない超アナログな二人が、ライブ配信に挑戦しますので、時間通りに始まらないなどトラブルも満載でお届けすることになるかもしれませんが、お時間のある方、ぜひPCの前でお待ちくださいませ〜！

Jazzのスタンダードやポップス・童謡などみんなが知っている曲をレゲエにアレンジしたハッピーなライブを展開。
ピアニカとウクレレのアコースティックスタイルで、オーディエンスを楽しませる二人組。
日本でメジャーデビューをした後、カンボジアでの音楽活動 https://www.facebook.com/milo.angkor/ を立ち上げ、
現在はカンボジアとの架け橋になれるよう、カンボジアの曲も演奏中。2016年より京都府八幡市でベジタリアン「喫茶木もれび」を営みながら、関西圏を中心に音楽活動を継続中。
