📢 The Ministry of Fisheries & Marine Resource Development in Kiribati is seeking expressions of interest for consulting services in the "Preparation and Implementation Support of Sustainable Supply Chain Development Plans" for four outer islands in the Gilbert Group as part of the Kiribati Pacific Regional Oceanscape Program (PROP).

Objective: Strengthen coastal community participation in sustainable marine-based revenue streams.

📋 Assignment Title: Design and Supervision of Final Design MFMRD Complex including MCS Centre and Fisheries Laboratories
🌐 Location: Ambo, Kiribati

Background:
The World Bank is financing the Pacific Islands Regional Oceanscape Program (PROP) across multiple Pacific Island countries, including Kiribati. The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources Development (MFMRD) of Kiribati is leading a 6-year project to enhance fisheries management and seafood safety.

Project Components:
🔵 Enhancing the Value of Large-Scale Oceanic Fisheries
🔵 Diversifying Marine-Based Revenue Streams for Coastal Communities
🔵 Improving Seafood Toxicology and Safety Measures
🔵 Delivering Effective Project Management

Opportunity:
Due to limited land assets, Kiribati is planning to consolidate the MFMRD infrastructure into a multi-story office complex in the Ambo area.

We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified consulting firms for two assignments:

1️⃣ Detailed Engineering Design: Develop detailed engineering plans and specifications for the MFMRD complex, MCS Center, Seafood Toxicology, and coastal research laboratories.

2️⃣ Construction Supervision: The consultant may be invited to take on the role of "Project Manager" following the successful design phase.

Objectives:
The consultancy will involve:
📐 Preliminary and Detailed Engineering Designs
🗂 Tender Document Preparation
📅 Construction Schedule Analysis
📝 Tender Document Organization

Staffing:
We estimate the need for 16 staff-months, including experts in architecture, engineering, and environmental management. The detailed design is expected to be completed within 6 months.
