Saba Sailing Update Summary – 2026
Here's a rundown of what's changed for sailors visiting Saba this season.
• Customs & immigration
Immigration requires all crew to come ashore when clearing in. If you're continuing to Statia, you do not need to clear out with immigration before leaving.
• Communications
The repeater is working, but cell service remains poor from the mooring field.
• Dining updates
Saba Deep is open again, with a fresh look, cocktails, and smash burgers, but note they close at 5pm. For later dining, D'Corner serves doubles and wings and stays open later.
• Deep Dive Brewing
A new local brewery from the same owners as Sea Saba. Find their beers at restaurants around the island, or try all 12 on tap at The Dive Bar in Windwardside, a new bar with cheese pairings. You can buy cans from the Sea Saba dive shop.
• Colibri Bar & Resto
Just past the entrance to the botanical garden (free to visit), Colibri is set among tropical plants and hummingbird feeders and is a great spot for a drink or snack after hiking Mt. Scenery. Closed Sundays.
• Closed
Chez Bubba has closed permanently.
• Jo Bean Glass
Jo Bean has retired and handed the business to Dannerys, who is continuing the tradition of handmade glass figurines, beads, and jewelry.

Day 143 – Antigua Chapter Complete & Southbound Prep Spent the day finalizing the Antigua chapter and getting everything uploaded into the Doyle Guides mobile app. Also started prepping the boat for our journey back south to Grenada! About 220 nautical miles over the next 5–6 days. We won’t be sailing overnight, so we’ll be making stops along the way. Follow along for daily vlogs, and let me know what parts of the Caribbean sailing guide update process you're most interested in in the comments!

Day 142 – Roseau – The Last Day of Field Research The final day of field research brought me around Roseau checking in on Customs & Immigration, the dinghy dock (still not great), tour operators, provisioning, shopping, restaurants, and dive shops. Stopped by Fort Young Hotel and checked out the big changes happening south of the anchorage, including the new Ocean Oasis Hotel and dive shop. There’s also a casino, plus bathrooms and showers available. You may also be able to use the pool! Best to confirm with the front desk. Follow along for daily vlogs, and let me know what parts of the Caribbean sailing guide update process you're most interested in in the comments!
