서울 성수동에 위치한 음악 중심 공연장 게토얼라이브에서 9월부터 12월까지 ‘교차모순’ 공연을 개최한다.
한국문화예술위원회 민간소공연장지원사업에 선정된 본 공연은 작년 10월에도 같은 지원사업에 선정되어 일렉트로닉 밴드 ‘텐거(TENGGER)’, 1세대 프리재즈 색소포니스트 ‘강태환’ 등의 아티스트들과 함께 성공적으로 공연을 선사한 바 있다.

‘교차모순’은 말 그대로 ‘모순’이 교차한다는 뜻이다. 본토 국민과 이주 국민. 전통과 현대. 우리가 쉽게 모두 반대항으로 이해하려고 했던 여러 개념과 존재 사이에는 사실 수많은 모순항이 존재한다. 그리고 이와 같은 모순항이 서로 만나고 교차해 하나의 공간을 완성할 때 이것이 곧 교차모순의 공간이 된다.

게토얼라이브의 대표이자 예술감독인 정지선 대표는 “이번 ‘교차모순’ 공연을 통해 한국에서 소위 ‘비주류’로 여겨지는 국악, 재즈, 즉흥음악, 전자음악을 알리는 시도를 멈추지 않으려고 한다. 아티스트들의 자율성을 인정하고 그들이 제약 없이 창의적인 예술활동을 할 수 있도록 최대한 지원하려 한다”고 이야기하며 본 공연을 기획하였다.

‘교차모순’은 각자 다른 장르의 총 4회 기획공연으로, 9월부터 12월까지 열리며 첫 라인업으로는 떠오르는 일렉트로닉 팝 뮤지션 ‘UZA’가 9월 18일에 공연을 선보일 예정이다.
