shed the “Anytime Korean Series,” a Korean language textbook for US universities, and localized it to meet the demand. The online conversation practice solution (PIP Lang), developed in cooperation with University of Colorado Boulder, was applied to the “Anytime Korean Series (AnytimeKorean.com).”

The Chinese character textbook, which KONG & PARK developed its own contents, is the representative book of us. KONG & PARK has registered a patent for Chinese learning materials as a mechanism designed to repeat each part of Chinese radicals naturally. It is currently being published separately as a Chinese character textbook for Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. It has been published in Korean, English, Spanish, and German to meet readers in more than 30 countries. English Publication
KONG & PARK has established a stable process for publishing foreign languages based on our extensive experience since publishing English publications in 2012. We offer a complete one-stop service with a network of translators in each field, style editing for publishing, refined local design, and global distribution. Since 2017, the Journal of Korean Art and Archeology has been published in the United States. In particular, we write our own “translation manual” and provide it to translators to maintain a consistent translation of the journal, which is a serial publication. The “translation manual,” updated every time the issue is published, is KONG & PARK's promise to maintain the quality of the translation.

In early celebration of Hangeul Day, let's uncover the extraordinary legacy of Korea's printed text history with "𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐨𝐧: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐃𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐲." 📚

Did you know that the oldest known book printed with metal movable type, the Jikji simche yojeol (직지심체요절), was created in Korea in 1377?

During the Joseon Dynasty, Korea led a creative breakthrough in bookmaking with its diverse range of movable type, including versions for Hangeul, which were essential for educating everyone from crown princes to commoners.

This book, curated by the National Museum of Korea, explores the rich heritage and technical prowess of Korean printing, highlighting over 820,000 pieces of movable type held in their collection.

Each piece tells a story of historical significance and innovation that shaped centuries of Korean knowledge dissemination.

📰 Can You Catch This One?

Remember in our last post, we talked about how over 70% of Korean vocabulary comes from Chinese characters (Hanja) and how learning them can make K-dramas, movies, and songs so much easier to understand?

That was a perfect example of how often these words are used in real life, makes sense now, right?
😉 Shall we go back to the sentence from before?

🎬 넷플릭스 영화 ‘K-팝 데몬 헌터스’ OST ‘Golden’, 빌보드 핫 100 1위… 우후죽순 퍼진 ‘Golden’ 챌린지 열풍에 힘입어

In Korean, we describe this phenomenon with the idiom 우후죽순 (uh-hu-juk-soon) “bamboo shoots after the rain,” meaning something that appears or happens in large numbers in a short time.

If you understood this right away, your Korean has already taken a big step forward. If it still feels tricky… that might be a sign you need a bit more Hanja power.

✨ Bonus: we’ve added a mini Hanja quiz for you to try. See if you can solve it!
