Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Osama Boodai issued a decision on Monday banning cash transactions of KD 10 or more in some places, where only e-payment transactions should be allowed.

The Ministerial Decision No. 32 of 2026 applies to companies operating in the areas of health clubs (gyms), salons for men, women and children, sports clubs, pest and rodent control firms, and pesticide import, export and storage, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement.

The ministry noted that Article I of the Ministerial Decision stipulates that no cash transactions valued at over KD 10 may be conducted when signing contracts, selling commodities or offering services.

Article II states that penalties shall be applied to lawbreakers, with penalties including shutdown and legal action.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday said Iran had 48 hours left to make a deal on opening the vital Strait of Hormuz or face “Hell.”

“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, referring to his ultimatum issued on March 26.

“Time is running out - 48 hours before all Hell will reign (sic) down on them,” the president said, adding: “Glory be to GOD!”

Aviation companies and travel agencies are required to issue a full refund for tickets and bookings that were canceled due to the current circumstances, Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority said on Tuesday.

The refund should be issued within 15 days from the date of cancelation, the ministry said in a statement

All bookings that were canceled or not used during the period from February 28, 2026 are eligible for a refund, including non-refundable tickets, it said.

Qatar on Monday condemned Iranian attacks on a military camp, a power station and a water desalination facility in Kuwait, calling them a “flagrant violation” of Kuwait’s sovereignty and international law.

In a statement, Qatar’s foreign ministry described the strikes as “unjustified” and urged an end to such actions against countries in the region.

The ministry affirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with Kuwait and support for measures to protect its sovereignty, security and stability, and wished a swift recovery for those injured.
