Villa of the Star, a "renovation" project as a part of the Mo Stay project, is built on three main factors: Connectivity, Locality, and Sustainability. Nestled in the pine forest, Villa of The Star is an inspiring resort space that blends existing landscape elements into the house, creating a connection between people and nature. The Star is surrounded by a low taluy bank. to avoid heavy rain that can sweep rocks into the house, we use stone steps to create a natural wall, both do not affect the natural state and avoid landslides. The design team found a way to create a project that endures with time, using sustainable materials that are highly local, such as stone, pine wood, concrete and steel, and bricks, to build a construction suitable for the natural context.

Hue is the ancient capital of Vietnam, this city still has an ancient appearance and stores many heritages. The downtown area is really narrow, plus the harsh, humid tropical climate, which is extremely hot in summer and rainy in winter. Therefore, most of the residential architecture here is still a tube house with a rather boring, old, and safe architectural form.

The intention was to create a play of spaces and create dialogues in between, which will create memories in the future for the client, like a home is supposed to do. For inspiration, traditional ways of housing in our region were considered. Every traditional house is simple, compact, and adequate. So, that philosophy was taken into account while designing this house as well as the client’s approach towards life. The plan was done in a very simple and adequate manner, and the form of the building tried to mimic the client’s persona. The structure is a machine that will perform as per its need and will create memories along the way with time.

In a serene environment, situated just on the outskirts of Dhaka city with proximity to the river Sh*talakha, the design was intended for the residence of a family. With its transitional layers of indoor-outdoor spaces, the residence offers generous spreads of filtered daylight glazing through the interiors. It intended for people to look for the unknown and ask from the unknown. Hence, the residence was named CHAABI, meaning wanting something in Bengali.

This house is located on a spectacular 50-acre property with views over vineyards towards Philip Island and Western Port Bay and is conceived of as an abstraction of a typical Australian Farmhouse. While sitting on a prominent hilltop affords it the best views, it also means that the house is somewhat exposed to the coastal climate of the region.

“This particular project for us has been not just architecture but an approach in designing experiences or merging nature or nature living. When we want to run away from the city, we want to run away from the feel of it mostly and what better escape can it be than this. ”

Our fascination for tropical architecture always made us appreciative of its beauty and significance. Site is located near Surat. The land offers a beautiful panoramic river view and mango trees on the other side. When we collaborate with clients, we prioritize engaging with them from the very beginning to grasp their preferences and architectural tastes. We always remind ourselves that every project is a collaborative effort between the designer and the user.

Following the position of the house, the intent is the least possible footprint taken up by the house. The form is shaped glass as a façade supported by exposed concrete and lime plaster to flaunt the minimal, sleek, and earthy design. One is welcomed by the low heightened entrance pavilion into the house which unfolds two elevated seating rooms – private and formal- encompassed by water bodies, thus forming the ambiance of a floating island.

The owners could feel the history lure them to this spot, and unable to venture away decided to build their home. The client desired the juxtaposition between simple and timeless, transparent and private all at an affordable rate. They wanted to build a life that was not restrained inside the home.
