One backpack, 10 countries, and a girl who trusted herself 🎒✈️

In 2018, I took a leap — my first ever solo travel across Europe.
It started with a work opportunity to join a group tour from Berlin to Venice, but I wanted more. So I planned my own extended journey… from Paris to Amsterdam, covering 10 countries — all by myself.

I booked hostels, caught overnight buses, crossed borders at midnight, and carried a heavy backpack full of dreams. I stayed in mixed dorms, made friends from around the world, rode bicycles through Paris, hiked the Alps, and found Wi-Fi at 4AM in Zurich on a random bench just waiting for the hostel to open. 😅

Most of my photos were selfies or tripod shots — with one eye on the camera and one eye watching for anyone walking too close, ready to run if needed 😂.
Back then, I didn’t know much about social media. I just took pictures of whatever I found beautiful — though yes, some of those edits are very oversaturated now. But I still love every one of them.

Because every photo reminds me of who I was back then — curious, brave, and figuring it all out as I went.

This journey shaped me in ways I can’t fully explain.
I didn’t just travel through Europe. I traveled deeper into myself. 💛

I always say..hiking isn’t just about travel or adventure. It gives you so much more than you expect.

This was one of the most beautiful hikes we’ve done. On our way back, we stumbled upon a tiny rural village fair—a weekly market where locals bring what they grow, make, or gather from their gardens to sell or trade.

It reminded me of stories from the old days. And while we see ‘markets’ in cities, nothing compares to this. It was simple. Real. Pure. People weren’t just buying and selling. They were laughing, talking, sharing tea, and spending time together. Especially the elderly ones. It was beautiful.

We spent a few hours there, and it left a mark on me. Sometimes, we get so caught up in our own problems—chasing things, comparing, stressing over what we don’t have. But places like this remind you: even with very little, life can be full. And maybe, just maybe, our ‘big’ problems aren’t really that big.

Just sharing this, in case it means something to you too. 💛

One of the absolute highlights of our stay at was the floating breakfast—and trust me, it’s every bit as dreamy as it looks 💫🍉🌸

If you book their stunning Ocean Suite, you get your own private pool… and yes, that means you can start your morning with a beautiful tray of breakfast goodies floating right beside you. Picture this: warm sunlight, the gentle splash of water, and a table full of fresh tropical fruits, pastries, eggs made just the way you like them, and juice that tastes like sunshine 🥐🍳🍓

Not only was the food so good (seriously, everything was fresh and flavorful), but the whole experience felt luxurious and calm—like something straight out of a travel magazine. We took our time, snapped a hundred photos (because how could you not?), and just soaked in the slow, peaceful start to the day.

If you’re planning a getaway to Sri Lanka and love those little moments of indulgence, this is one you’ll definitely want to add to your list. ✨🌊
