Dr. Zameer Careem is Sri Lanka’s first medical historian, with a unique journey that bridges medicine, history, and international relations. Trained as a doctor, he went on to pursue postgraduate studies in the humanities, and at just 32 is already an internationally recognized historian, author, and lecturer, with his works housed at Stanford University, the University of Chicago, and the New York Public Library.
The first Sri Lankan academic to receive both the ICRO Scholarship to Iran and the KATIP Scholarship to Turkey, his research spans from Sri Lanka’s foreign relations to landmark works such as *Persaudaraan: Malay Life in Sri Lanka* and *From Europa to Tabrobana*. He has lectured across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, represented Sri Lanka at leading global conferences, and shares his passion for heritage with thousands through his YouTube channel.
