😁 *This was truly a gift for the students of Great Minds Campus’s Diploma in English course.*
They said, _“Now we have no fear of speaking English in public.”_ 😇💪🏻
On 31.08.2025, *Anas Azwer, an English teaching veteran,* hosted a special Students’ Meet-Up at GapHQ, Colombo 07.
Students traveled from all across the island; Galle, Puttalam, Akurana, Mawanella, Batticaloa, Balangoda, and more.
From 8 am to 5 pm, we spoke only in English. Every student was invited to the front to give a self-introduction, answer questions, and step out of their comfort zone. Together, we practiced body language, action gestures, table topics, group and individual speeches, storytelling, narration, speed speaking, stylish and loud delivery, even techniques used by dubbing artists; everything to break the fear and build fluency.
The environment made it even more special: a sophisticated conference room, cool A/C, a delicious lunch, evening tea, a cheerful photo session, and above all, plenty of laughter and fun. I was deeply touched to see the students leaving in their bikes, cars, and vans, waving and calling out “Tata, Sir!” with bright smiles.
The very next day, many reached out to tell me how much the session helped them. They discovered their hidden talents, felt more confident, and realized that fear of English can be truly overcome.
