Entering its 50th year of existence, the Ananda College Broadcasting Unit still stands as the frontier of Sri Lankan school media

On 01 November 1886, a new Buddhist Scholastic Foundation was added to a minor, yet growing collection of Buddhist Learning Institutes in the schooling system of the then-Ceylon. During the past 133 years, Ananda College has embraced not only Buddhist broods but also youngsters from all communities in the island by divulging them on the nationalistic and ethical ideals of this realm along with the

positive western principles which were needed back then in order to rise up in the social order. Dating back 48 years, 1973 saw the establishment of the Broadcasting Unit of Ananda College. Throughout its existence for over 4 decades, this organization is considered to be the undeniable innovator in school based media and has proven that it has been accomplishing its duties and responsibilities by systematizing some of the foremost occasions that take place in the school calendar such as the Best Announcer Competition, Inter School Announcing Competition and Sandeshaya Awards. Our principal objective being to process a mass media culture in Sri Lanka with good comportment, the very first reason for the strength behind the success of this praiseworthy organization is the unity of all its members, splendidly directed by our Teachers In-charge and second being our weight on the three main principles: Discipline, Announcing and Organizing. Yet another page in this volume was folded as the Broadcasting Unit stepped into a new year of its existence with the appointment of the Board of Executives for 2021 - 2022. 2025 ජාතික මලල ක්‍රීඩා තේරිම් තරගාවලියේ දෙවන අදියරේ උස පැනීමේ තරග ඉසව්වෙන් මීටර් 2.22 ක උසක් සටහන් කරමින් ලෙසඳු අර්ථවිදු වයස අවුරුදු 20න් පහළ නව ජාතික වාර්තාවක් පිහිටුවීමට සමත් විය.

ජයග්‍රාහී ලෙසඳු අර්ථවිදු සොයුරාට ප්‍රවෘත්ති විකාශන ඒකකයේ අපි මෙයින් සුබපැතුම් එක්කර සිටිමු.

මොරටුව වේල්ස් කුමර විද්‍යාලයීය විද්‍යා සංගමය මගින් සංවිධාන කළ Inceptio'24 සමස්ත ලංකා අන්තර් පාඨශාලීය විද්‍යා දැනුම මිනුම තරගාවලියේ සමස්ත ශූරතාව දිනාගැනීමට අප විද්‍යාලයීය විද්‍යා සංගමයේ හා ගණිත සංගමයේ දැනුම මිනුම කණ්ඩායම සමත් වූ බව සතුටින් දැනුම් දෙමු.සේනිත සේනාරත්න, ඉසුරු අරෝෂ, අමිරු සමරසිංහ, ගීමෙත් පේනුජ, තුලන භාජිත ඒ අතර විය.

ජයග්‍රාහී ආනන්ද විද්‍යාලයීය විද්‍යා සංගමයේ හා ගණිත සංගමයේ දැනුම මිනුම කණ්ඩායමට ප්‍රවෘත්ති විකාශන ඒකකයේ අපි උණුසුම් සුබ පැතුම් එක්කර සිටිමු.

Ananda College has once again showcased its academic excellence by claiming the Overall Championship at Inceptio'24, the All-Island Inter-School Science Quiz Competition organized by the Science Society of Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa.

Our victorious team, comprising Senitha Senarathna, Isuru Arosha, Amiru Samarasingha, Geemeth Penuja, and Thulana Bhajitha, brought this prestigious title home, making Mother Ananda proud.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා බොක්සිං සංගමය මගින් සංවිධාන කරන ලද 2024 පාසල් බොක්සිං තරගාවලියේදී අප විද්‍යාලයීය බොක්සිං ක්‍රීඩක කවිඳු මෙත්මාල් කිලෝග්‍රෑම් 44-46 කාණ්ඩයේ රන් පදක්කම සහ දසුල පුන්සිත් ගුණවර්ධන විසින් කිලෝග්‍රෑම් 41-44 කාණ්ඩයේ තෙවන ස්ථානය ලබා ගනිමින් එහි ලෝකඩ පදක්කම දිනා ගත්තේය.

ජයග්‍රාහී ක්‍රීඩකයන්ට ප්‍රවෘත්ති විකාශන ඒකකයේ අපි උණුසුම් සුබ පැතුම් එක්කර සිටින අතර තවත් මෙවැනිම වූ ජයග්‍රහණයන් තුලින් අනඳ රාවය දස දෙස පතුරවන්නට ඔවුනට හැකිවේවායි අපි ප්‍රාර්ථනා කර සිටිමු.

A.M. Kavindu Methmal secured the Gold Medal in the 44-46kg category, while Dasula Punsith Gunawardena earned the Bronze Medal in the 41-44kg category, showcasing their exceptional skills at the 2024 School Boxing Tournament organized by the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka.

The Broadcasting Unit extends its heartfelt congratulations to both athletes on their remarkable achievements. May this success be a stepping stone to even greater triumphs in their boxing careers.

ආනන්ද බොක්සිං ක්‍රීඩක පදීප නිම්සර වයස අවුරුදු 22න් පහළ ආසියානු තේරීම් තරගාවලියේ දී කිලෝ 48-51 බර පන්තිය යටතේ පැවැති බොක්සින් තරගයේ ප්‍රථම ස්ථානය හිමිකරගනිමින් එහි රන් පදක්කම දිනාගැනීමට ඔහු සමත් විය. මෙම විශිෂ්ට ජයග්‍රහණයත් සමඟ වයස අවුරුදු 22න් පහළ ජාතික බොක්සිං කණ්ඩායමට ඇතුළු වන්නට ද ඔහුට වරම් හිමිවිය.

ඒ සමගින් පදීප නිම්සරගේ ක්‍රීඩා දක්ෂතාව ජාත්‍යන්තරයට රැගෙන යන්නට ඔහුට හැකි වේවායී විද්‍යාලයීය ප්‍රවෘත්ති විකාශන ඒකකයේ අපි මෙයින් සුබ පැතුම් එක්කර සිටිමු.

Anandian Padeepa Nimsara Samadanam has secured the 1st place in the 48-51kg category at the 2025 Under-22 Asian Selection Tournament, emerging as the champion. With this remarkable victory, he has been selected to the Under-22 National Boxing Pool, marking a significant milestone in his boxing career.

On the occasion of World Wildlife Day, members of the Wildlife Association of Ananda College have emerged victorious in the island-wide World Wildlife Day Cartoon and Short Video Competition organized by the Department of Wildlife Conservation. This remarkable achievement reflects their creativity, dedication, and passion for wildlife conservation.

කොළඹ ඩී.එස්. සේනානායක විද්‍යාලයීය විද්‍යා සංගමය මගින් සංවිධාන කළ Esper'25 සමස්ත ලංකා අන්තර් පාඨශාලීය විද්‍යා දැනුම මිනුම තරගාවලියේ, අවසන් මහා තරගයේ සම-ශූරතාව දිනාගැනීමට අප විද්‍යාලයීය විද්‍යා සංගමයේ දැනුම මිනුම කණ්ඩායම සමත් වූ බව සතුටින් දැනුම් දෙමු. රමික රිසිවර, තිමේෂ් විදානපතිරණ, ඉෂාන් චන්දුප, සේනිත සේනාරත්න සහ තනුජ දෙව්සර එහිදී අප විද්‍යාලයීය කණ්ඩායම නියෝජනය කරන ලදි.

Ananda College proudly secured the joint championship at Esper'25, the All-Island Science Quiz competition organized by D.S. Senanayake College, after an intense final against Devi Balika Vidyalaya, showcasing outstanding knowledge and teamwork.

The Broadcasting Unit congratulates the team on their victory, wishing them continued success and growth in science and knowledge.

මහනුවර කිංස්වුඩ් විද්‍යාලයීය බාලදක්ෂ සමූහය විසින් " වන පියසක ඒකාත්මිකාව" යන තේමාව යටතේ තිස්හය වන වරටත් සංවිධාන කරනු ලැබූ ජේ.ජේ.පී දෙහිගම අනුස්මරණ ගවේෂණ තරගාවලිය පසුගිය දා පැවැති අතර එහි සමස්ත ශූරතාව කොළඹ ආනන්ද විද්‍යාලය සතු කරගැනීමට අප විද්‍යලයීය බාලදක්ෂ සමූහය සමත් විය. දකුණු ආසියාවේ පැරණිතම මෙන්ම විශිෂ්ටතම ගවේෂණ තරගාවලියක් වන මේ තරගාවලියෙහි සමස්ත ශූරතාව ආනන්දය සතු වන්නේ වසර 22කට පසුව වීම විශේෂත්වයක්.

අනඳ කිතු ගොස රාව ප්‍රතිරාව නංවන්නට විද්‍යාලයීය බාලදක්ෂ සමූහයට මින් ඉදිරියටත් හැකි වේවායි විද්‍යාලයීය ප්‍රවෘත්ති විකාශන ඒකකය මෙසේ ප්‍රාර්ථනා කර සිටිමු.

The prestigious J.J.P. Dehigama Memorial Exploration Competition, one of the oldest and most distinguished scouting competitions in South Asia, was organized for the 36th time by the Kingswood College Scout Group, Kandy. In the competition Ananda College has made history by securing the Overall Championship after 22 years, marking a remarkable achievement in the school's scouting legacy.
