🧠📱 Could endless scrolling be affecting your brain in real time?

A new study suggests that while people watch engaging short-form videos, activity may temporarily decrease in brain regions involved in attention, self-control, and decision-making.

That doesn’t mean Reels, TikToks, or Shorts are permanently damaging your brain — but the findings raise interesting questions about what happens when we spend long periods continuously scrolling.

How much time do you spend watching short videos every day? 👀

⚖️ The “fake lawyer who won 26 cases” story went viral worldwide — but the full story is more complicated.

In 2023, Kenya’s Law Society said Brian Mwenda Njagi was not an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and accused him of presenting himself as one.

Social media reports quickly claimed that he had appeared in court and won 26 cases without formal legal qualifications.

But that sensational detail was later disputed by the Law Society of Kenya, with its president saying there was no factual basis for the claim that he had won 26 cases.

The real case was already strange enough: Kenyan court records later documented criminal proceedings involving allegations that Mwenda had been masquerading as an advocate.

🤔 Would you have believed the “26 wins” story if you saw it on your feed?

Unrest at the Colombo New Magazine Prison completely brought under control

Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara states that the unrest which erupted at the Colombo New Magazine Prison has now been completely brought under control. Steps have also been taken to transfer around ten inmates, who are suspected to have instigated the incident, to other prisons.

The unrest was triggered when a prison officer took custody of a small parcel that was thrown into the premises over the prison wall. Angered by this, a group of inmates began to behave in a riotous manner.

Following this, over 40 inmates broke the locks of a cell and came outside. However, prison officials, the Police, and Police Special Task Force (STF) personnel acted swiftly together to control the situation and direct the inmates back to their cells.

It is reported that tri-forces personnel have now been deployed to ensure security within the prison premises and the surrounding area, while drones belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force have also been utilized to monitor the situation from the air.
