We Report You Decide
The post shared regarding the incident at Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya discusses a sensitive situation involving two students. Here is the English translation:
Clarification Regarding the Incident at Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya
The post I previously shared regarding the injustice faced by a student at Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya has been widely shared. I have also noticed this being discussed in many other places. However, I am posting this to correct a specific misinterpretation that is currently circulating.
Chanithma accused the Principal on stage, stating that the school administration decided to withhold her award simply because she failed to attend the rehearsals.
During that moment, when she spoke about her qualifications, she mentioned, "Look at the souvenir..." Below, the first image shows Chanithma’s page in the souvenir, followed by Nabashi’s page.
The point that needs to be corrected is the narrative being shared that "the award snatched from Chanithma was given to Nabashi" and that "Nabashi does not deserve it." This is entirely wrong. Please look closely at these two photos to understand why.
An investigation must definitely be conducted regarding the injustice caused to Chanithma, and necessary action should be taken. That was the purpose of my original post. At the same time, I request everyone to refrain from the foolish act of victimizing another child in the process. Nabashi is a talented student. The photo below proves that she, too, possesses the qualifications to be honored with an award.
Chanithma is talented, and so is Nabashi. The injustice lies in the decision to deny Chanithma her award due to her absence at rehearsals—not because an award meant for Chanithma was given to Nabashi. Therefore, please understand the situation correctly without making that child a victim.
After all, they are all children!!
