இந்தியத் துணை ஜனாதிபதியுடன் தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கட்சிகளின் பிரதிநிதிகள் சந்திப்பு: கூட்டாட்சித் தீர்வும் மீனவர் பிரச்சினை குறித்தும் வலியுறுத்தல்!

​இலங்கைக்கு விஜயம் மேற்கொண்டுள்ள இந்தியத் துணை ஜனாதிபதி சி.பி. இராதாகிருஷ்ணன் அவர்களுக்கும் தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கட்சிகளின் பிரதிநிதிகளுக்குமிடையிலான சந்திப்பு நேற்றைய தினம் கொழும்பிலுள்ள, தாஜ் சமுத்திரா விடுதியில் நடைபெற்றது.

இச்சந்திப்பின் போது, இலங்கைத் தமிழ் அரசுக் கட்சியின் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சிவஞானம் சிறீதரன், இந்தியத் துணை ஜனாதிபதியைச் சந்தித்து ஈழத் தமிழர்களின் அரசியல் மற்றும் அடிப்படைப் பிரச்சினைகள் குறித்துத் தீர்க்கமான கலந்துரையாடலை முன்னெடுத்தார்.

இதன் போது பல்வேறு முக்கிய விடயங்களை அவர் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார்.

​குறிப்பாக, 2009-ஆம் ஆண்டு யுத்தம் முடிவுக்கு வந்த பின்னர், இரா. சம்பந்தன் தலைமையிலான குழுவினர் வன்னி நோக்கி மேற்கொண்ட பயணம் மற்றும் அது தொடர்பாக இந்தியாவிடம் கையளிக்கப்பட்ட 180 பக்கங்களைக் கொண்ட விரிவான அறிக்கை குறித்து நினைவு கூர்ந்தார். அந்த அறிக்கையின் விளைவாகவே, இடம்பெயர்ந்த மக்களுக்காக இந்தியாவினால் 50,000 வீட்டுத்திட்டம் உடனடியாக வழங்கப்பட்டது என்பதையும் அவர் நன்றியுடன் குறிப்பிட்டார். அத்துடன், இலங்கையின் பொருளாதார நெருக்கடி மற்றும் இயற்கை அனர்த்தங்களின் போது இந்தியா வழங்கிய மனிதாபிமான உதவிகளுக்கும் தனது நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக்கொண்டார்.

​தமிழர் தாயகமான வடக்கு - கிழக்கு பகுதிகளில் ஈழத் தமிழர்களுக்குச் சமஷ்டி (கூட்டாட்சி) முறையிலான அரசியல் தீர்வே அடிப்படைத் தேவை என்பதை மீண்டும் வலியுறுத்திய அவர், 2015-இல் இந்தியப் பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி இலங்கை நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் நிகழ்த்திய உரையில், தனது அனுபவத்தின் அடிப்படையில் இலங்கைக்கு ஒரு 'கூட்டாட்சி முறைமை' தான் பொருத்தமானது எனக் குறிப்பிட்டதைச் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார். தற்போதைய 13-வது திருத்தச் சட்டத்தின் கீழ் உள்ள அதிகாரங்கள் கூட நீதிமன்றங்கள் ஊடாகப் பறிக்கப்படுவதால், ஒரு நிரந்தர அரசியல் தீர்வுக்கு இந்தியாவின் நேரடித் தலையீடு அவசியம் என்பதையும் அவர் வலியுறுத்தினார்.

​மேலும், இந்தியப் படகுகளின் அத்துமீறல்களால் வடக்கு - கிழக்கு மீனவர்கள் எதிர்கொள்ளும் கடுமையான பாதிப்புகள் குறித்து எடுத்துரைத்ததோடு, யுத்தத்தால் ஏற்கனவே சிதைந்துள்ள தமிழ் மீனவர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தைப் பாதுகாக்க ஒரு நிரந்தரத் திட்டம் வேண்டும் எனக் கோரிக்கை முன்வைத்தார். இதற்குப் பதிலளித்த துணை ஜனாதிபதி, இந்தியக் கடற்றொழில் அமைச்சருடன் ஆலோசித்து இது குறித்துத் தகுந்த முடிவெடுக்கப்படும் என உறுதியளித்தார்.

​தொடர்ந்து, தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள 102 முகாம்களில் தங்கியுள்ள ஈழத் தமிழர்களில் தாயகம் திரும்ப விரும்புவோருக்குத் தேவையான வசதிகளை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொடுக்குமாறும், அவர்கள் மீண்டும் குடியேறும்போது எதிர்கொள்ளும் நிலச் சிக்கல்கள் மற்றும் அத்தியாவசியப் பொருட்களைக் கொண்டு வருவதில் உள்ள நடைமுறைச் சிக்கல்களை நீக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார். ஈழத்தில் தமிழர்களின் இனப்பரப்பைத் தக்கவைக்க அவர்கள் மீளவும் இலங்கைக்குத் திரும்புவதே அவசியம் என்பதில் துணை ஜனாதிபதியும் தனது நிலைப்பாட்டினை உறுதியாகத் தெரிவித்தார்.

​ஈழத் தமிழர்களின் சமகால அரசியல் போராட்டங்கள் மற்றும் வாழ்வாதாரச் சவால்களை இந்திய உயர்மட்டத் தலைமையின் கவனத்திற்குக் கொண்டு சென்ற முக்கிய நிகழ்வாக இந்தச் சந்திப்பு அமைந்தது.

இக்கலந்துரையாடலில், இலங்கைத் தமிழ் அரசுக் கட்சியின் தலைவர், பதில் பொதுச்செயலாளர், தமிழ்த் தேசிய மக்கள் முன்னணியின் பொதுச்செயலாளர், நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் இராசமாணிக்கம் சாணக்கியன், ஜனநாயகத் தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டணியின் சார்பாக நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் செல்வம் அடைக்கலநாதன், மேனாள் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் தர்மலிங்கம் சித்தார்த்தன் ஆகியோரும் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.

Meeting between Indian Vice President and Representatives of Tamil National Parties: Emphasis on Federal Solution and Fishermen’s Issues

A meeting between Indian Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, who is currently on a visit to Sri Lanka, and representatives of Tamil national parties was held yesterday at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo.

During the meeting, Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) Member of Parliament Sivagnanam Shritharan met with the Indian Vice President and engaged in in-depth discussions on the political and fundamental issues faced by Eelam Tamils.

He highlighted several key matters during the discussion.

In particular, he recalled the 2009 post-war visit to the Vanni led by R. Sampanthan and the comprehensive 180-page report submitted to India. He noted with gratitude that, as a result of that report, India promptly provided a housing scheme of 50,000 houses for displaced people. He also expressed appreciation for India’s humanitarian assistance during Sri Lanka’s economic crisis and natural disasters.

He reiterated that a federal (power-sharing) political solution is a fundamental necessity for Eelam Tamils in their homeland in the North and East. He also pointed out that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his 2015 address to the Sri Lankan Parliament, stated based on his experience that a federal system would be suitable for Sri Lanka. He emphasized that even the powers granted under the current 13th Amendment are being curtailed through the courts, and therefore, India’s direct intervention is essential for a lasting political solution.

Furthermore, he raised concerns about the severe impact faced by Northern and Eastern fishermen due to encroachments by Indian fishing vessels, and called for a permanent solution to protect the livelihoods of Tamil fishermen already affected by the war. In response, the Vice President assured that the matter would be discussed with India’s Ministry of Fisheries and that appropriate action would be taken.

He also requested that necessary facilities be provided for Eelam Tamils residing in 102 camps in Tamil Nadu who wish to return to their homeland, and that practical issues related to land and the transportation of essential goods upon resettlement be resolved. The Vice President affirmed his position that the return of Tamils to their homeland is essential to preserve their demographic presence in the region.

This meeting served as an important occasion to bring the contemporary political struggles and livelihood challenges of Eelam Tamils to the attention of India’s top leadership.

The discussion was attended by the leader and acting general secretary of the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi, the general secretary of the Tamil National People’s Front, Member of Parliament Rasamanickam Shanakiyan, Member of Parliament Selvam Adaikalanathan representing the Democratic Tamil National Alliance, and former Member of Parliament Dharmalingam Siddharthan.

நெடுந்தீவு மக்களின் நீண்டகாலப் போக்குவரத்துப் பிரச்சினைகளுக்குத் தீர்வுகாணும் நோக்கில், இலங்கைத் தமிழ் அரசுக் கட்சியின் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சிவஞானம் சிறீதரன் அவர்களின் ஒழுங்குபடுத்தலில், யாழ்ப்பாணத்திற்கான இந்தியத் துணைத் தூதுவர் திருமிகு சாய் முரளி அவர்களுக்கும் நெடுந்தீவுப் பிரதேச சபையின் தவிசாளர் தலைமையிலான குழுவினருக்கும் இடையிலான முக்கிய சந்திப்பு அண்மையில் யாழ்ப்பாணத்திலுள்ள இந்தியத் துணைத் தூதரகத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.

​இக்கலந்துரையாடலில், நெடுந்தீவுக்கான தற்போதைய போக்குவரத்துச் சேவைகள் மக்களின் தேவைகளைப் பூர்த்தி செய்யப் போதுமானதாக இல்லை என்பது தொடர்பாகப் பல்வேறு விடயங்கள் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டன. குறிப்பாக, 60 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாகப் பயன்பாட்டிலுள்ள 'குமுதினி' படகு மிகவும் பழமையான நிலையில் உள்ளதையும், தற்போதுள்ள ஏனைய படகுகளான "வடதாரகை" மற்றும் "நெடுந்தாரகை" ஆகியவை நோயாளிகள், கர்ப்பிணித் தாய்மார்கள் மற்றும் முதியவர்கள் பயணிக்கப் பொருத்தமற்ற வகையில் இருப்பதையும் துணைத் தூதுவரிடம் சுட்டிக்காட்டினர்.

​தொடர்ந்து, நாகபட்டினம் - காங்கேசந்துறை சேவையில் ஈடுபடும் 'சிவகங்கை' கப்பல் போன்ற புற அமைப்பும், குமுதினிப் படகு போன்ற உட்கட்டமைப்பைக் கொண்ட, வேகமான பயணத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தக்கூடிய இரண்டு புதிய படகுகளை இந்திய அரசின் உதவியுடன் நெடுந்தீவு மக்களுக்காகப் பெற்றுத்தருமாறு கோரிக்கைக் கடிதம் ஒன்றும் இதன்போது கையளிக்கப்பட்டது.

​இக்கலந்துரையாடலில், நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சிவஞானம் சிறீதரன், நெடுந்தீவுப் பிரதேச சபைய்இன் தவிசாளர் திரு.ச.சத்தியவரதன், உப தவிசாளர் மற்றும் கௌரவ உறுப்பினர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர்.

Delegation Meets Indian Deputy Consul on Neduntheevu Transport Crisis...!

A delegation of public representatives met with the Indian Deputy Consul to discuss the ongoing transportation difficulties faced by the people of Neduntheevu.

This important meeting was organized by Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) Member of Parliament Sivagnanam Shritharan, with the participation of the Indian Deputy Consul in Jaffna, Mr. Sai Murali, and a delegation led by the Chairman of the Neduntheevu Pradeshiya Sabha. The discussion took place recently at the Indian Consulate in Jaffna.

During the meeting, several concerns were raised regarding the inadequacy of current transport services to meet the needs of the people of Neduntheevu. It was highlighted that the boat “Kumudini,” which has been in operation for over 60 years, is now in a severely outdated condition. Additionally, the existing vessels “Vadatharakai” and “Neduntharakai” were noted to be unsuitable for passengers such as patients, pregnant women, and the elderly.

Furthermore, a formal request letter was submitted seeking the assistance of the Government of India to provide two new vessels. These proposed boats are expected to have an external structure similar to the “Sivagangai” ship operating on the Nagapattinam–Kankesanthurai route, along with internal facilities comparable to the “Kumudini” boat, ensuring faster and more comfortable travel for the people of Neduntheevu.

The discussion was attended by MP Sivagnanam Shritharan, the Chairman of the Neduntheevu Pradeshiya Sabha Mr. S. Sathiyavarathan, the Vice Chairman, and other honorable members.

​இலங்கைத் தமிழரசுக் கட்சியின் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சிவஞானம் சிறீதரன் மற்றும் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் வதிவிடப் பிரதிநிதி மார்க்-ஆண்ட்ரே ஃபிரான்ச் (Marc-André Franche) ஆகியோருக்கு இடையிலான சந்திப்பு கடந்த செவ்வாய்க் கிழமை(24/03/2026) அன்று யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் அமையத்தில் (IOM) நடைபெற்றது.

​இதன்போது, வடக்கு மாகாணத்தின் தற்போதைய அரசியல் மற்றும் சமூகப் பொருளாதாரச் சூழல் குறித்து விரிவாகக் கலந்துரையாடப்பட்டது. நீண்டகாலமாக மாகாண சபைத் தேர்தல்கள் நடத்தப்படாததால் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள பாரிய நிர்வாக இடைவெளி மற்றும் அதனால் மக்கள் எதிர்கொள்ளும் அன்றாடச் சவால்கள் குறித்து ஐநாவின் வதிவிடப் பிரதிநிதிக்குச் சுட்டிக்காட்டப்பட்டது.

Meeting with UN Resident Coordinator: MP Shritharan discusses governance gap in the North

ITAK Member of Parliament Sivagnanam Shritharan met with the United Nations Resident Coordinator, Marc-André Franche, on Tuesday (24/03/2026) at the UN office (IOM) in Jaffna.

During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the current political and socio-economic situation in the Northern Province. The UN Resident Coordinator was briefed on the significant governance gap caused by the prolonged delay in holding Provincial Council elections, and the daily challenges faced by the people as a result.

In particular, he emphasized that the indefinite postponement of elections has weakened devolution and led to stagnation within administrative structures. Discussions also focused in detail on revitalizing the post-war economy of the North and addressing youth unemployment by creating new job opportunities and effectively utilizing local resources to rebuild the economy.

United Nations Sri Lanka
