Despite earlier optimism that a US-Iran agreement to end the war was mostly finalized—including terms to reopen the critical Strait of Hormuz—President Trump has shifted his tone. He now states the deal is not "fully negotiated yet," adding that "time is on our side" and the US blockade will remain in effect until a signed agreement is reached.
Meanwhile, market analysts warn that even after a deal is struck, it could take 3 to 6 months to return global energy markets to the status quo.

Today, the temporary road repair in front of Almanar National School was completed by the PRDA, as per our request. Last week, half of the work was done, and today they finished all the temporary repairs. We hope that within a couple of months, a permanent carpeted road will be finished. Just a reminder, the sports meet final is tomorrow at Almanar. I’m M. I. M. Niyaz, Local Council Member, Udunuwara. #

Diplomatic Wins in Sports and Beyond!

We’re delighted to witness the positive outcome of diplomatic efforts that brought India and Pakistan together for the upcoming T20 match in Sri Lanka. This is a testament to the power of diplomacy and the potential for meaningful progress.

However, it’s unfortunate that some opposition MPs attempt to draw comparisons to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Such comparisons are not only misguided but also fail to appreciate the unique complexities of each diplomatic situation.

We remain hopeful that, just as we’ve seen progress here, even more complex conflicts can find peaceful resolutions over time.
