United in one voice. Victory secured.

The acapella singing team from the oriental music section of Maris Stella College Negombo succeeded in being the 1st runner up at the provincial level music competitions 2026.

This was the first time that this event was introduced to the competition, and thus being the first appearance of our college in the competition as well.

This victory was secured after a tough battle against other talented schools. Despite being the 1st runner up, the performance was greatly appreciated and commended by the judges.
Congratulations to all the young Maristonians who made their Alma Mater proud in the music battlefield.

Special thanks go to Mr. Hemantha Liyanapathirana, trainer and teacher in charge of Eastern music for his invaluable contribution in creating this item and moulding the students so that they would perform a winning item.

A huge congratulations to the talented musicians from the Maris Orchestra for being champions in the provincial level music competitions 2026 and being selected to compete in the national level.

This victory was made after competing against some truly talented school orchestras. This is a testament to the immense hardwork and dedication of both the members of the orchestra and the teacher-in-charge alike.

A huge thank you goes to Mr. Hemantha Liyanapathirana, the trainer and the teacher in charge of the orchestra for shaping the raw musical talents of students into having a potential to not just perform well but to achieve the best. We wish all the very best to the Maris Orchestra ahead of the national level finals.

On Activity Day 2026, Maris Stella College, Negombo transformed its school grounds into an active arena of outdoor physical challenges, team strategy, and practical learning. Designed to foster discipline, leadership, and resilience, the event brought students together on the field for a rigorous day centered on active participation and Marist brotherhood. Throughout the day, students tackled group obstacles and tactical exercises that required clear communication and strategic coordination, while competitive outdoor games tested their endurance, agility, and sportsmanship. These structured field activities provided a practical environment for students to step away from traditional classroom settings, take on physical challenges, and strengthen their bonds through active teamwork.
