Shakespeare Drama Cast of Maris Stella College Negombo successfully participated in the 50th All-Island Inter-school Shakespeare Drama Competition 2025, organized by the YMCA Colombo and the Rotary Club of Colombo North.

Competing against 22 schools participated, our College proudly received three nominations:
• Daniel Perera (8-D) – Best Cameo
• Evan Silva (11-E) – Best Cameo
• Akein Fernandopulle (12 Sci D) – Best Comical Portrayal.

While congratulating them on their nominations, we are especially proud that Mas. Daniel Perera won the All-Island Award for Best Cameo in the Boys’ Category. As one Marist family, we warmly celebrate this remarkable achievement. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Rev. Bro. Sunanda Alwis, Principal of our College, the deputy principals and Mrs. Nirmala Wijedasa - Head of the English Department and Teacher-in-Charge of the Shakespeare Drama Troupe, Mr. Delon Weerasinghe, Miss Tahsha De Silva - the directors of the play for the constant guidance and dedication.

We are proud to announce that Mas. Triston Panditharatne (President of Negombo District Scout Youth Forum) has been selected for the list of 10 Rover Scouts at National Level to represent Sri Lanka Scout Association at the 11th Asia Pacific Regional Scout Youth Forum 2025 which will be held from 6th to 9th October 2025 at 'Chien Tan Youth Activity Centre' in Taipei City, Taiwan. There will be 142+ Rover Scouts participating from 29 National Scout Organisations (nations) from the Asian Region for the 11th Asia Pacific Regional Scout Youth Forum 2025.

The Asia Pacific Regional Scout Youth Forum provides a valuable platform for young people in Scouting to express their views, contribute to meaningful discussions, and present recommendations on issues that matter to them. It also serves as a space to develop critical leadership and decision-making skills while engaging with fellow Scouts from across the region.

The Under 21 Volleyball team of our College showcased their skill and true sportsmanship at the Lions' Trophy Volleyball Tournament 2025, organized by the Sinha Sports Club, Kurunegala. Competing with great spirit against strong opponents, our team emerged as the 1st Runners-up, marking a remarkable achievement. Adding further pride, Mas. Sheran Malan was recognized for his outstanding performance on court and was awarded the title of Best Libero of the tournament.
