Compared to March 2025, which recorded 208,253 arrivals, April saw a 16.1% decrease, likely influenced by seasonal travel trends following peak months.
This continued influx highlights Sri Lanka’s resilience and consistent global tourism interest.
In March 2025, Sri Lanka welcomed 141,813 international tourists, showing a steady flow of visitors ahead of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season. India was the leading source market with 19,317 tourists, followed by Russia (16,562), the UK (10,866), Germany (10,982), and France (9,031). These figures highlight strong regional and European interest in Sri Lanka as a travel destination.
The March arrivals laid a solid foundation for the April tourism surge, which recorded over 174,000 visitors, marking a significant 23.1% increase month-over-month.
This data showcases Sri Lanka’s growing appeal as a global travel destination.
2025 අප්‍රේල් මාසයේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට සංචාරකයින් 174,608ක් පැමිණ ඇත. ඉන්දියාවෙන් වැඩිම සංචාරක සංඛ්‍යාවක් වශයෙන් 38,744 (22.2%)ක් පැමිණි අතර, එය මුළු සංඛ්‍යාවේ වැඩිම කොටසක් වේ. එමෙන්ම එක්සත් රාජධානියෙන් (UK) 17,348 (9.9%), රුසියාවෙන් 13,525 (7.7%), සහ ජර්මනියෙන් 11,654 (6.7%)ක් පැමිණ ඇත.
