We bid farewell to Malani Fonseka, Sri Lanka’s beloved Queen of Cinema, who passed away on May 24th, 2025.

Her brilliance lit up the silver screen for decades, and her artistry helped shape the soul of Sinhala cinema. More than an actress — she was an icon, a trailblazer, and a national treasure.

Her absence leaves a deep void, but her legacy will continue to shine through the stories she told and the hearts she touched.

Thank you, Malani Fonseka, for the memories. Rest in peace.
