Job Interview එකක් කියන්නේ අපි හැමෝම Nervous වෙන අවස්ථාවක්. ඔයාට ජොබ් එක ලැබෙනවාද නැද්ද කියලා තීරණය වෙන්නේ interview එකේ ඔයාගෙ performance එක මත. ඉතින් මම මේ පෝස්ට් එකෙන් කියන්නේ interview එකට යන්න කලින් ඔයාට prepare වෙන්න tips කීපයක්.
1. ඔයා Interview එකට යන Company එක ගැන study කරන්න. මෙතනදි මම අදහස් කරන්නේ Company එකේ history එක ගැන දැනගෙන යන එක නෙමෙයි. මම Interview කරපු ගොඩාක් දෙනෙක් Company එක ගැන දන්නේ මොනවාද කියලා ඇහුවාම කියන්නේ history එක ගැන.
ඒත් history වඩා වැදගත් දේවල් ටිකක් තියෙනවා. Company එක මොන වගේ business එකක් ද කරන්නේ, company එකේ නිෂ්පාදනය කරන products මොනවාද, එකේන් customers ලබාදෙන services මොනවාද, competitors කවුද වාගේ දේවල් දැනගෙන යන එක ඔයාට ගොඩාක් වාසි වෙනවා.

2. Interview එකට යන job එක ගැන විස්තර දැනගන්න. මෙතනදී study කරන්න ඕන වැදගත් කාරණා කීපයක් තියෙනවා. එකක් තමයි ජොබ් එකේ nature එක ගැන. මේ Job එක office Job එකක් ද, field Job එකක් ද, නැත්නම් factory Job එකක තියෙන ජොබ් එකක් ද කියලා හොයන්න. ඔයාව job එකට select කරගත්තොත් ඔයාට වැඩ කරන්න වෙන්නේ කොහේද කියලත් හොයල බලන්න. සමහර විට ඔයාට outstation වැඩ කරන්න වෙයි, නැත්තම් daily travel කරන්න වෙයි. ඒක නිසා job එක ලැබුනොත් ඔයාගෙ Travelling සහ accommodation ඔයා manage කරන්නේ කොහොමද කියන එක Interview එකට යන්න කලින් හිතන්න. ගොඩක් දෙනෙක්ට මේ ගැන කිසිම idea එකක් නැතුව interview එකට ඇවිත්, මේ විස්තර ගැන ඇහුවම surprise වෙනවා. ඒකෙන් interviewer ට ඔයා ගැන good impression එකක් එන්නෙ නැහැ.

මේ ජොබ් එකේදි ඔයාට කරන්න වෙන Tasks and Responsibilities ගැන in detail Study කරන්න. ඔයාගෙන් interview එකේදී මේ Tasks and Responsibilities වලට අදාල ප්‍රශ්න අහන්න පුලුවන්. ඔයා ඒ tasks කරන්නේ කොහොමද, කලින් කරලා තියෙනවද කියල ඔයාගෙන් අහන්න පුලුවන්.ඔයා ඒවා කරලා තියෙනවනම් , ඒවා කරපු process එක මතක් කරගන්න,අලුත් job එකේදි ඔයා ඒවා කරන්නේ කොහොමද කියල plan කරන්න. ඒ tasks කරලා නැත්තම් ඒවා කරන හැටි ගැන study කරලා යන්න.

3. 3rd Point එක තමා මේ Job එකට අවශ්‍ය කරන Qualifications මොනවද කියලා study කරන එක. මේ Qualifications, types 3කට වෙන් කරන්න පුලුවන්.
1. Educational Qualifications
2. Experience
3. Skill. Interview එකේ එක Objective එකක් තමා ඔයාට මේ Skills තියෙනවාද කියලා බලන එක. ඒක නිසා ඔයා apply කරලා තියෙන ජොබ් එකට අදාල Skills, ඒ Industry එකට අදාල Skills මොනවාද කියලා Study කරන්න. ඒ ජොබ් එකේ use වෙන "Key words" මොනවාද කියලා බලන්න. උදාහරණයක් විදියට, ඔයා apply කරලා තියෙන්නේ Sales Job ජොබ් එකකට නම්, ඒකට වැදගත් වෙන Skills තමා, Negotiation Skills, Communication skills, Sales Skills. Sales Field එකෙ Use වෙන “Key Words” තමා, Monthly targets, Lead Generation, Customer Service, Closing Sales, Upselling, cross Selling වගේ ඒවා. මේ වගේ, ඔයාගෙ Field එකේ තියෙන Skills ගැන Study කරලා යන්න.
ඉතින් මම මේ කිව්වේ Interview එකට යන්න කලින් ඔයා Study කරන්න ඕන දේවල් ටිකක්. මේ විස්තර හොයා ගන්න හොදම විදිය තමා Company Website එක සහ Job Advertisement එක. ඒ Company එකේ Work කරන යාලුවෙක් ඉන්නවානම් තවත් ලේසි. ගොඩක් වෙලාවට ඔයාට Interview එකට Invite කරන්නේ Call එකකින්. ඊට පස්සේ ඔයාට Email Invite එකක් එනවා. සමහර වෙලාවට ඒ Email එකේ ඔයාට Contact කරන්න Phone Number එකක් හරි Email Address එකක් හරි තියෙනව. එවාට Contact කරලාත් ඔයාට Doubt එකක් තියෙනවානම් Clarify කරගන්න පුලුවන්.
ඊළග Job Interview එකට යන්න කලින් මේ දේවල් ටික කරලා බලන්න. ඔයාලා දන්න තව Tips තියෙනවනම් Share කරන්න. අනිත් අයටත් වැදගත් වේවි.

Make your CV stand out from the crowd

What’s the First Challenge of Getting a Job? Get called for an interview. Your CV is the main tool you have to show recruiters that you are the person for the job. So how do you make your CV stand out from the rest? Here are a few tips.

1. There is no such thing as one size fits all
Stop sending the same CV to all the job vacancies. When it comes to applying for jobs, consider the quality of your application rather than the amount of CVs you sent. Consider customizing your CV based on the job you are applying to.

2. Focus on Qualifications

5. Use Achievements and numbers
Include measurable numbers to highlight your achievements. Take a look at the below two examples.
-Developed and executed sales plans and achieved an annual sales target of 120%.
-Implemented Lean manufacturing methods in the production line and improved efficiency by 8% within 3 months.
Take time to prepare your CV for each job. Customizing the CV will make the recruiter feel that you are a better match for the job and be tempted to shortlist you for an interview.
