Raavan Kommand in allegiance with Sri Lankan underground returned to stage with a 6th and final edition of their decade-long series O.D.R at Ideahell in Colombo unleashing a wave of musical chaos, one riff at a time.

The night was a festival of high energy and ignition livened up by the musical assault of 7 metal bands and brought the decade-long running series to an epic end.

In a move set to redefine South Asia’s entertainment scene, global R&B icon Ne-Yo is bringing his voice—and his vision—to Sri Lanka. Teaming up with Sri Lankan entrepreneurs Amith Boteju and Champike Munasinghe, the Grammy-winning artist has co-founded Brown Boy Pvt Ltd, a Colombo-based entertainment company that promises to put Sri Lanka on the global entertainment map.
And it all begins this December 2025, with Ne-Yo Live in Sri Lanka—a landmark concert that will mark the artist’s first-ever performance on the island.

Backed by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, which has officially endorsed the event, the concert is being positioned as a strategic step in revitalising tourism and attracting high-value international travellers during peak season.

Ne-Yo, known for hits like So Sick and Miss Independent, brings more than his musical talent to the table. With partnerships across the globe—including with artists like Beyoncé and producers behind Cirque du Soleil—he offers the kind of global reach that few Sri Lankan ventures have ever tapped into.
“This island is a gem waiting to shine brighter,” Ne-Yo said. “Brown Boy is how we make that happen. Not just with music, but with culture, creativity, and opportunity.”

They’re backed by a powerhouse team, including Monique Blake (business partner of Swizz Beatz), Bradley Seelig (former VP at JP Morgan), and Mike Tankell, who’s worked with brands like 007, MGM, and Cirque du Soleil.

Ne-Yo’s concert will be just the beginning. Brown Boy Pvt Ltd plans to roll out a calendar of events, cross-border festivals, and artist residencies across the region—positioning Sri Lanka as a creative launchpad for South Asia’s youth and culture.

An evening of soul-stirring music and transcendent storytelling unfolded at Scope Cinema as Dāsé Dāsé made its official premiere.

Guests were treated to an exclusive first look at the Hindi rendition of the music video the striking fashion film Rang Mahal and Sulanga the behind-the-scenes journey through the Kashmiri experience that shaped it all.

Colombo came alive as the Fête de la Musique 2025 brought a vibrant mix of global rhythms and local talent to centre stage.

Organised by the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and the Maldives the concerts featured French artist Anaïs Rosso Swiss-Sri Lankan DJ Tha Youngest and local favourites FUNK ISLAND.
