Deputy Finance Minister Dehpue Yenpea Zuo Endorsed as ECOWAS Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Agriculture
Monrovia, Liberia — Liberia’s Deputy Minister of Finance and Development Planning for Economic Management, Hon. Dehpue Yenpea Zuo, has been endorsed by the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government to serve as Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Agriculture of the ECOWAS Commission, effective September 1, 2026.
The endorsement marks a significant achievement for both Hon. Zuo and Liberia, reflecting growing regional confidence in the country’s leadership and expertise in economic governance and development.
As Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Agriculture, Hon. Zuo will play a key role in shaping regional policies aimed at promoting economic integration, agricultural development, trade, investment, and sustainable growth across the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
His appointment is also expected to strengthen Liberia’s representation within the regional bloc and further enhance the country’s contribution to advancing economic cooperation and development initiatives in West Africa.
Hon. Zuo has served as Deputy Minister for Economic Management at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, where he has contributed to the formulation and implementation of national economic policies, fiscal reforms, and development planning.
His endorsement by the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government underscores Liberia’s increasing role in regional affairs and highlights the confidence placed in Liberian professionals to serve in key leadership positions within continental institutions.
The appointment takes effect on September 1, 2026, when Hon. Zuo is expected to officially assume his responsibilities at the ECOWAS Commission.
