Buchanan, Grand Bassa County โ The Grand Bassa County Health Team has been recognized by the Ministry of Health as the Best Performing County Health Team in Region 2, earning the highest distinction during the Ministry's Annual Performance Review Conference.
The prestigious award was presented to Grand Bassa County Superintendent Hon. Karyou Johnson in recognition of the county's exceptional performance in healthcare service delivery, disease surveillance, immunization coverage, and overall health system management during the review period.
The Annual Performance Review Conference brought together county health leaders from across Liberia to evaluate progress, present performance results, and assess achievements against key national health indicators. These indicators included maternal and child health outcomes, health facility readiness, timely disease reporting, immunization performance, and community health outreach.
In announcing the award, Ministry of Health officials commended the Grand Bassa County Health Team for its outstanding leadership, consistency, and innovative approaches to strengthening healthcare delivery.
The Ministry noted that the county emerged as the Best Performing County in Region 2, setting a benchmark for excellence in health service delivery within the region.
Receiving the award on behalf of the people of Grand Bassa County, Superintendent Hon. Karyou Johnson expressed profound appreciation to the Ministry of Health for the recognition and dedicated the achievement to the county's healthcare workforce, community health volunteers, and development partners.
However, County authorities described the recognition as a significant milestone that will further inspire efforts to sustain excellence in healthcare delivery.
The Ministry of Health's Annual Performance Review Conference serves as a national platform for evaluating county health system performance, sharing best practices, recognizing excellence, and setting strategic priorities for the advancement of Liberia's healthcare sector.
