President Boakai Makes New Appointments Affecting Key Government Institutions

Executive Mansion, Monrovia —President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., has made additional nominations and appointments to government agencies affecting the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, the Ministry of Local Government, and three public institutions, including the National Housing Authority (NHA), the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA), and the Bureau of State Enterprises (SOE).

The nominations, where applicable, are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.

The Institiutions and those nominated are:

I. MINISTRY OF STATE FOR PRESIDENTIAL AFFAIRS

1. Mr. Bill McGill Jones - Deputy Minister for Administration

2. Madam Jennifer Davies Ross - Assistant Minister for Administration

II. MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, decentralization, and effective public service delivery across the country, the leadership of the Ministry of Local Government has been reconstituted by reappointments.

The appointments are consistent with Chapter 25.22 of the new Act establishing the Ministry of Local Government (2025) and highlights the Administration’s efforts to improving institutional performance and advancing national development priorities.

The Ministry’s administrative structure reconstituted as follows:

2. Mr. Edward K. Mulbah – Deputy Minister for Local Government and Decentralization

15. Gabriel Tucker Bridge – Freeport Road (1.9 km)
County: Montserrado
Funding: Japanese Grant
Status: Detailed feasibility study and engineering design have been completed. Civil works are expected to begin this dry season.

16. Freeport – St. Paul Bridge Road (6.5 km)
County: Montserrado
Funding: Government of Liberia (GoL)
Status: Active rehabilitation and maintenance works are set to recommence this dry season, with a target to pave the entire stretch up to St. Paul Bridge and expand the roadway to four lanes.

17. St. Paul Bridge – Klay – Tubmanburg Corridor
