Former Assistant Minister of Education in the CDC Government Dominic Kweme has Criticized President Weah’s Handling of the State as he Writes below:

“Every leader has access to different leadership styles. But the one they rely on most tends to define how they govern. While most leaders use a mix of styles depending on the situation, there's usually one that dominates their approach.
In former President Weah's case, I observed a laissez-faire leadership style. This approach can work well when a leader is highly knowledgeable and trusts that those under them are also capable and disciplined. It allows for healthy delegation. However,it's also a style sometimes adopted by leaders who are unsure or unprepared-using it as a way to mask their limitations. Unfortunately, I believe this was the version Weah demonstrated.
His government became loose and disorganized. Hierarchy and respect for proper process broke down. Power was concentrated in the hands of those with
the closest personal ties to the inner circle. Whether junior or senior officials, as long as they had the right connections, they operated with unchecked authority and often abused the system without fear of consequence. Weah, perhaps unknowingly, leaned on this style of passive governance, leaving the system vulnerable to misuse.
If this current administration is truly committed to exposing past wrongs and holding people accountable, it won't be difficult to uncover misconduct. Doing so would open the eyes of the public even wider-and it could lead to a total loss of
credibility and relevance for the CDC.”

President Boakai Breaks Ground for State-of-the-Art Radiotherapy Center at JFK Medical Center

July 4, 2025

Executive Mansion, Monrovia– In an effort to advance healthcare delivery in Liberia and the sub-region, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., today officially broke ground for the construction of a state-of-the-art Radiotherapy Center at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Medical Center in Sinkor, Monrovia.

The ceremony was graced by His Excellency Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), whose visit highlights Liberia’s strengthened partnership with the Agency in leveraging nuclear science and technology for peaceful and developmental purposes.

In his address, President Boakai described the event as “a transformative occasion in our journey towards advancing healthcare for our people and in strengthening international collaboration.” He emphasized that the project represents a critical investment under the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, with a strong focus on good health and well-being.

Since joining the IAEA in 1962, Liberia’s collaboration with the Agency has deepened across six thematic areas aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
• Nuclear and Radiation Safety
• Food and Agriculture
• Good Health and Well-being
• Health and Nutrition
• Energy and Industry
• Water Resources and Environment

The President noted that the Radiotherapy Center will provide accessible, affordable, and advanced cancer treatment, significantly reducing the need for citizens to travel abroad for care.

Beyond treatment, the facility will serve as a hub for training, research, and capacity building in medical radiation sciences.

“This groundbreaking is not just for a building; it is for hope, resilience, and life,” President Boakai remarked. He prayed, “May this facility become a model of excellence, serving not only Liberia and the subregion, but all who seek healing within its walls.”

President Boakai extended his heartfelt appreciation to Director General Grossi and the IAEA for their technical and strategic partnership, and thanked the Ministry of Health, healthcare professionals, engineers, and all stakeholders whose commitment is turning vision into reality.

The establishment of the Radiotherapy Center marks a monumental step in Liberia’s quest for equitable, modern, and sustainable healthcare infrastructure.

President Weah Pays Tribute to Fallen Football Icon Peter Rufal of Nigeria who was known for saying “the shot was hot” after Nigeria lost to Denmark in the 1998 World Cup while standing in the goal post.

“A REALLY SAD DAY FOR FOOTBALL
The passing of legendary Nigerian football icon Peter Rufai is a big blow.

I fondly remember his heroic leadership as captain of the Super Eagles, guiding the team to win the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations.

As a contemporary, I came to greatly admire his skill and dedication. His towering presence in goal—especially during Nigeria’s historic 1994 World Cup debut—remains etched in our memories.

My deepest condolences go to his family, the Super Eagles, and the Nigerian people. May his legacy continue to inspire generations.”

President Boakai Signs National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA) Act into Law

July 3, 2025

Executive Mansion, Monrovia--In an effort to strengthen food security and combat hunger across the country, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has signed into law the National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA) Act of 2020.

The legislation was officially approved on June 17, 2025, and printed and published by authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The newly signed Act establishes the National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA) as a statutory body with the responsibility to develop, implement, and coordinate national food assistance programs. The Agency will also work to enhance emergency food response mechanisms, support vulnerable populations, and partner with local and international institutions to address Liberia’s food insecurity challenges.

President Boakai described the law as a timely and critical instrument in his Administration’s broader agenda to promote social protection and reduce poverty. “This is a tangible step toward fulfilling our promise to ensure that no Liberian goes to bed hungry,” he noted, adding, “With the NFAA, we are institutionalizing a national commitment to protect the food rights of our citizens, especially those most in need.”

The NFAA will function under a Board of Directors and be headed by an Executive Director appointed by the President with the consent of the Senate. The Agency will collaborate with relevant government ministries, non-governmental organizations, donor partners, and private sector actors to operationalize food assistance efforts across all fifteen counties.

The enactment of the NFAA Act signals a new era of structured and accountable food assistance delivery in Liberia. It aligns with international best practices and reinforces Liberia’s commitment to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger.

The Boakai Administration remains committed to strengthening national systems and institutions to meet the pressing needs of the people and ensure inclusive development for all.
