Growth Beyond Borders!

At the Center for Sustainable Education and Development (ACSED), we believe that meaningful change begins with collaboration, strategic partnerships, and a shared commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders.

Today, our Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Christian R. Cooper, together with the distinguished Organizing Team of the Prestigious YoungLead Africa Summit (YLAS 2026), paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Office of the Rt. Hon. Mayor of the Paynesville City Corporation, Hon. Robert Bestman, to officially present the vision of YLAS 2026 and strengthen institutional partnerships ahead of the summit.

Although the Mayor was unavoidably engaged, his office, represented by the Executive Secretary and the Public Relations Office, warmly received our delegation and graciously accepted our proposed partnership. We extend our sincere gratitude to Hon. Robert Bestman for his unwavering support for youth development and for consistently creating spaces that allow young people to discover, nurture, and showcase their leadership potential.

We are equally grateful to our strategic partner, the Office of the Youth Focal Person of the Paynesville City Corporation, led by Amb Lawrence Dayougar, whose exemplary leadership and support made this engagement both possible and successful.

Our team was also privileged to meet with the Paynesville City Manager, whose office accorded us a warm reception and reaffirmed the importance of supporting initiatives that inspire and empower young people.

As we continue this journey of building transformational leaders, we are delighted to officially announce that the Paynesville City Hall (PCH) will serve as the official venue for the YoungLead Africa Summit 2026, scheduled for October 7–8, 2026 (Wednesday and Thursday).

Today’s engagement marks more than a meeting—it signifies the beginning of a new chapter of collaboration, networking, and purposeful leadership. It reinforces our belief that when institutions and young people work together, remarkable things happen.

ACSED Calls for Collective Action to End Plastic Pollution on World Environment Day 2026

Monrovia, Liberia – June 5, 2026 – The African Center for Sustainable Education and Development (ACSED) joins the international community in commemorating World Environment Day 2026, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and sustainable development across Africa.

Observed annually on June 5, World Environment Day serves as the United Nations’ principal platform for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of the environment. This year’s theme, “Ending Plastic Pollution,” highlights the urgent need for governments, institutions, businesses, and citizens to address one of the most significant environmental challenges facing the world today.

Plastic pollution continues to threaten ecosystems, biodiversity, public health, and economic development. Across Africa, millions of plastic products are improperly disposed of each year, leading to environmental degradation, blocked waterways, increased flooding, and damage to marine and terrestrial habitats.

In a statement marking the occasion, ACSED emphasizes that environmental protection is a shared responsibility that requires coordinated efforts at local, national, regional, and global levels.

“The future of Africa depends on our ability to protect the environment today. Ending plastic pollution is not solely the responsibility of governments; it requires the active participation of communities, educational institutions, businesses, youth, and every citizen. Together, we can build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Africa.”

As an organization dedicated to advancing sustainable education and development, ACSED continues to promote environmental awareness, youth engagement, community empowerment, and policy advocacy aimed at addressing environmental challenges and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ACSED calls on all stakeholders to take practical actions by reducing single-use plastics, promoting recycling initiatives, supporting environmental education, participating in community clean-up campaigns, and encouraging sustainable production and consumption practices.

The organization further recognizes the critical role of young people in driving environmental transformation and calls for increased investment in youth leadership, innovation, and environmental stewardship programs across Africa.

Today, on World Menstrual Day, the African Center for Sustainable Education and Development (ACSED) joins the global community in celebrating the strength, dignity, and resilience of every woman and girl.

Menstruation is natural. It is powerful. It is a symbol of life, growth, and womanhood. No girl or woman should ever feel ashamed, excluded, or disadvantaged because of her menstrual cycle.

At ACSED, we believe that menstrual health is a human right. Every girl deserves access to safe menstrual products, quality health education, clean sanitation facilities, and a supportive environment where she can thrive with confidence and pride.
