Gbarnga, B**g County — A 2025 graduate of B**g County University (BCU), Samson D. Flomo, has expressed profound gratitude to Liberia’s Minister of Agriculture, Dr. J. Alexander Nuetah, for giving him the opportunity to serve in Liberia’s agricultural sector following his graduation.
Flomo, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture with a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (CGPA), said his employment with the Ministry of Agriculture has made his academic achievement more meaningful and valuable.
He is currently working with the Ministry of Agriculture as a District Agriculture Officer (DAO), assigned to the Duagbeh Agricultural District in Sinoe County, where he provides agricultural extension services to farmers and communities.
Flomo said the opportunity has enabled him to put into practice the knowledge and skills he acquired during his university studies while contributing to Liberia’s agricultural development.
“My profound thanks and appreciation to the Agriculture Minister of Liberia, Dr. J. Alexander Nuetah, for making my BSc degree achievement more meaningful and valuable by giving me the opportunity to work in the agricultural sector of Liberia,” Flomo said.
The young agriculture professional also extended his appreciation to his lecturers in the Agriculture Department, now known as the College of Agriculture, for imparting what he described as valuable and impactful knowledge throughout his academic journey.
He further thanked the administration of B**g County University for its support and commitment toward ensuring the success of his education.
Flomo graduated on July 19, 2025, with a 3.30 CGPA, earning cm laude honors.
During the Fourth Commencement Convocation of B**g County Technical College (BCTC), Flomo emerged as the Second Dux of the College of Agriculture, an achievement that reflected his academic commitment and dedication to the study of agriculture.
His journey from an agriculture student to a District Agriculture Officer demonstrates the importance of connecting academic training with practical opportunities in Liberia’s agricultural sector.
As a DAO in Sinoe County, Flomo is now using his professional training to provide extension services and support farmers, while contributing to broader efforts to improve agricultural production, productivity, food security, and the livelihoods of farming communities in Liberia.
