An Appeal for Inclusion and Employment Opportunity After the 2023 Election
Dear Mr. President and Mr. Vice President,
I respectfully raise my voice to appreciate the leadership of the Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr Jeremiah Kpan Koung (JNBβJKK) Administration for the work being done across Liberia. As a strong supporter of the Unity Party and someone who actively participated in the 2023 campaign, I am proud to see the progress and development taking place under your leadership.
During the 2023 elections, I did not sit on the sidelines. I took the campaign personally and used my time, energy, resources, and social media platform to promote the vision of the JNBβJKK ticket. I moved from door to door, village to village, town to town, and community to community, speaking with Liberians and encouraging them to support your leadership and vision for a better Liberia.
At a time when some people discouraged us from participating in the campaign, I remained committed. I campaigned while continuing my education because I believed that supporting good leadership and preparing myself academically were both important for the future of our country.
Today, I am proud to say that I have earned my first degreeβa Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Margibi University. I believe my education, experience, commitment, and willingness to serve qualify me for an opportunity to contribute to the government and people of Liberia.
Mr. President and Mr. Vice President, I sincerely appreciate the efforts your administration has made in improving governance and providing opportunities for Liberians. I also commend the administration for its efforts in fighting the growing problem of drugs in our country. These are issues that directly affect the future of our young people and our nation.
I also want to respectfully appeal for inclusion. Many of us who worked tirelessly during the 2023 campaign believed that after the election, there would be opportunities for those who contributed to the victory to serve their country.
I understand that government appointments must be based on qualifications, trust, and the needs of the government. However, I humbly ask that those of us who demonstrated commitment during the campaign and have acquired the necessary qualifications not be forgotten.
I especially appeal to the leadership and officials of Margibi County to recognize my contribution. I supported the campaign, paid my monthly dues, used my personal resources, and stood with the movement when victory was not guaranteed.
Unfortunately, since the appointments of officials in my county, I have not yet had an opportunity to serve.
Mr. President and Mr. Vice President, I am not asking for a position simply because I supported the campaign. I am asking for an opportunity to prove myself. I have an academic qualification in accounting, I have demonstrated commitment to the Unity Party, and I am ready and willing to work wherever my skills can be useful to the government and people of Liberia.
Mr. President and Mr. Vice President, I respectfully ask you to look in my direction and remember the young Liberians who stood with you during the difficult days of the 2023 campaign. We did not only campaign because of what we expected to receive; we campaigned because we believed in the leadership and the future you presented to the Liberian people.
Today, I am simply asking for inclusion, consideration, and an opportunity to serve.
I remain grateful for the leadership of the JNBβJKK Administration and hopeful that my appeal will receive your kind attention. I am ready to serve Liberia with honesty, dedication, and professionalism.
