Though it’s a little long, kindly give it your time and your honest thought.
These days, we wake up and the headlines are all about 2029—CDC, Unity Party, who will contest and who will win.
But while we prepare for the next election, who is preparing our young people for the future?
Where is the conversation about youth entrepreneurship funding, practical skills and TVET, apprenticeships, digital skills, creative industries, job creation, and rehabilitation programs?
We keep talking about Liberia’s future while young Liberians are struggling to find a path into it. Some of our children are already on the streets selling instead of learning the skills that could change their lives.
2029 will come and go. But the young people we fail to invest in today will still be here tomorrow.
Let’s talk politics, yes. But let’s also talk about building skilled, empowered, employable young Liberians.
Because Liberia’s greatest investment should be its people.
