President Boakai Appoints Margibi Police Commander ACP Patrick B. Kormazu as Acting Deputy for Operations at LDEA

Monrovia, Liberia — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Patrick B. Kormazu, Margibi County’s Police Commander, as the Acting Deputy for Operations at the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA).

The appointment follows President Boakai’s dismissal of the entire leadership of the LDEA as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s fight against illicit drug trafficking and abuse.

ACP Kormazu has earned a reputation in Margibi County for his tough stance against drug-related crimes and reforming the Police operations in the county.

Other key appointments announced by the President include:

1. DCP Fitzgerald T. M. Biago of the Liberia National Police (LNP) – appointed Officer-in-Charge (OIC).
2. Ernest T. Tarpeh, Assistant Director for Special Services at the National Security Agency (NSA) – appointed Deputy for Administration and Investigation at the LDEA.

The President’s decision marks a significant restructuring of Liberia’s drug enforcement framework amid growing concerns over the rise in drug abuse and trafficking across the country.
