LRA PUBLIC NOTICE | CUSTOMS RECRUITMENT OF HONOR GRADUATES VERIFICATION PROCESS

The Liberia Revenue Authority has commenced the recruitment process of recent university graduates to serve as Customs Officers. As part of this initiative, universities were requested to submit the contact details of first-degree graduates who attained academic honors of Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or Summa Cum Laude during the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic years.

Accordingly, the LRA invites all eligible honor graduates from the University of
Liberia (UL), Cuttington University (CU), African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU), African Methodist Episcopal Zion University (AMEZU), Stella Maris
Polytechnic University and Starz University for academic years 2023/2024 and 2024/2025, as listed below, to visit the Customs Department at LRA Headquarters from August 17–21, 2026, to provide their contact details for official communication.

Please note that eligible candidates will be required to participate in a competitive assessment process following the verification exercise.

Final selection will be based on merit, demonstrated performance throughout the assessment process, and the operational staffing needs of the Liberia Revenue
Authority which forms part of the LRA’s standard procedure for professional staff recruitment.

Please note that this recruitment process is not open to the general public. It is strictly limited to the above-mentioned universities, categories of graduates, and graduation timeline specified in this announcement.

Clarification on Tractor Donation

We would like to address the misleading information regarding the tractor supposedly donated to the Kakata City Corporation by District #4 Representative Hon. Emmanuel O. Yarh.

This information is false. The tractor was not a donation; it was merely provided to assist us in clearing waste from the streets. Since then, we have faced ongoing challenges in managing waste disposal, and we are once again struggling to keep the main streets clean.

We urge everyone to verify facts before sharing information to avoid further confusion.

The ongoing upgrade of the Road Transport Union office, popularly known as Kakata Parking, is expected to improve the appearance of Kakata’s main street while helping to ease traffic congestion in the area.

The initiative had previously sparked curiosity among residents, many of whom wondered who was behind the development. The mystery was finally cleared up tonight during a reveal on Classic Media Network, where Hon. Nuquay’s involvement was made known.

WCO Concludes AEO Diagnostic Mission to Advance Liberia's Customs Modernization

Monrovia, Liberia – August 10, 2026: The World Customs Organization (WCO) has successfully concluded a week-long diagnostic mission in Liberia to support the Liberia Revenue Authority's implementation of an internationally recognized Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Program, reinforcing the country's customs modernization and trade facilitation agenda.

Conducted under the WCO Accelerate Trade Facilitation Program and funded by His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) of the United Kingdom, the mission assessed Liberia's readiness to implement the AEO Program in line with international standards while identifying the institutional and operational measures required for successful implementation.

Once introduced, the AEO Program will strengthen partnerships between Customs and the business community, facilitate the movement of legitimate trade, improve compliance, enhance border management, and reinforce Liberia's competitiveness as a regional trading hub within the ECOWAS region.

Speaking at the close of the training in Monrovia, Assistant Commissioner for Customs Port Operations Edwin F. Kendema commended the WCO team for the technical expertise and practical guidance provided throughout the mission.

He reaffirmed the Liberia Revenue Authority's commitment to advancing the initiative through continued collaboration with the World Customs Organization, the private sector, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the AEO Program and further strengthen Liberia's trade facilitation agenda.

World Customs Organization Trade Facilitation Expert Yasmeen Elahi praised LRA Customs officers for their professionalism, active participation, and strong commitment throughout the mission.

She said the diagnostic exercise identified the remaining gaps between Liberia's existing Trusted Traders Program and internationally recognized AEO standards while drawing on global best practices to guide the strengthening and alignment of the current program.

She congratulated participants on successfully completing the mission and expressed confidence that Liberia is well positioned to build an internationally recognized AEO program that will deliver lasting benefits to customs, the private sector, and the country's economy.

Also speaking, Angelina Yurkova and David Tanenbaum of the WCO Accelerate Trade Facilitation Program commended participants for their active engagement throughout the week and reaffirmed the WCO's continued commitment to supporting Liberia as it advances toward full implementation of the AEO Program.

The training was also conducted by WCO AEO expert Nnenna Ugo-Awa of the Nigeria Customs Service. The initiative forms part of the Liberia Revenue Authority's broader customs modernization strategy to strengthen border management, facilitate legitimate trade, improve compliance, and enhance supply chain security.

Once operational, the AEO Program is expected to deliver faster cargo clearance, more efficient border operations, increased predictability for compliant traders, and greater confidence among businesses and investors, further positioning Liberia as a competitive and trusted trading partner in the ECOWAS region.

Concerned Methodist Church Petition Madam Dorothy Barcolleh to contest in the 2029 elelections

On August 9, 2026, over seven Concerned Methodist Churches came together to petition Madam Dorothy Barcolleh to contest for the Representative seat for District #3.

During the reading of the petition at one of the churches, Edwin Yarlon emphasized Madam Barcolleh's tremendous efforts for the people of Margibi County. He noted that her leadership qualities make her a strong candidate to guide the district toward development.

The petition highlighted key areas of focus, including the establishment of a hospital, nursing school, agricultural initiatives, and other vital projects aimed at improving the county's infrastructure and services.

"We are petitioning her for our development, as we can see the positive impact she has made," the community members expressed.

Receiving the petition with gratitude, Madam Dorothy Barcolleh accepted the nomination with a joyful spirit. "I am truly honored to accept this petition, and I believe it is time for us to work together to uplift our district," she stated.

‎WEALA, MARGIBI COUNTY — In a significant boost to youth empowerment and local economic development, Margibi County Senator J. Emmanuel Nuquay and District #5 Representative Clarence G. Gahr have sponsored the graduation of 103 young people from the Gbaisue Vocational Training Institute in Weala.

Questions Surround COS Bobby Gray's US$250,000 Bribery Claim

Bobby Gray, Chief of Staff in the Office of Senator McGill, earlier this afternoon claimed in a social media post that he refused a US$250,000 bribe.

The claim comes at a time when social media has been flooded with reports that McGill was allegedly being questioned in connection with the over US$300 million co***ne case.

Senator McGill later granted an interview with a member of his staff, apparently seeking to dispel any suggestion of a connection between him and the co***ne matter.

But his statements have raised more questions.

Who allegedly attempted to bribe Bobby Gray with US$250,000?

When and where was the alleged bribe offered?

What was the alleged bribe intended to achieve?

Was the person who allegedly offered the money acting on behalf of an individual, company, or organization?

Did Bobby Gray report the alleged bribery attempt to the police or any other competent authority?

Does he have evidence to substantiate the claim, including messages, recordings, witnesses, or other documentation, considering that offering or receiving a bribe may constitute a criminal offense under Liberian law?

If the alleged US$250,000 payment was indeed a bribe, why has the alleged person behind the offer not been identified or reported?

Given his position as Chief of Staff, was the alleged offer connected in any way to his official responsibilities or activities within the Senator’s office?

More importantly, why did Bobby choose to publicly disclose the alleged bribe at the very moment reports were circulating about his boss, Senator McGill, allegedly being questioned in connection with the co***ne case?

Is the timing merely coincidental, or is there a connection between the two developments?

Just moments later, Bobby made another post claiming that “they have dismantled the co***ne propaganda.”

This raises even more questions.....

Mayor Seyboe Praises Hon. Emmanuel Yarh for Clean-Up Efforts in Kakata City

On Saturday, August 8,2026 Mayor Gbarngawoe E. Seyboe expressed his gratitude to Hon. Emmanuel O.Yarh for joining the Kakata City Corporation (KCC) in a significant clean-up initiative.

Representative Yarh, along with his team, took the lead in cleaning the main streets of Kakata city, showcasing a strong commitment to community improvement.

Mayor Seyboe highlighted that Hon. Yarh has consistently provided valuable support since August 16, 2024. He noted that Hon.Yarh's team brought a truck to assist in the clean-up, working alongside KCC staff to make a meaningful impact.

In a joyful address, Mayor Seyboe emphasized the importance of Hon. Yarh's contributions, including financial support, materials, and ongoing efforts to clean the Kakata dumpsite after several months of neglect.
