LNP CLARIFIES VEHICLE PROCUREMENT AND INTERNET SERVICES

Monrovia, Liberia – August 21, 2026: The Liberia National Police (LNP) provides the following clarification in response to public inquiries concerning its operational vehicles and internet services.

The LNP does not use Starlink internet service at any of its facilities. Internet connectivity is provided by the Liberia Telecommunications Corporation (LIBTELCO/LTC Mobile) under an official institutional contract.

The LNP also confirms that it procured used operational vehicles from Guardian Fleet in the United States to strengthen police mobility, patrol, and emergency-response capabilities.

Official institutional records do not support claims connecting these services or vehicle procurements to individuals associated with the ongoing narcotics investigation.

The LNP respects the public’s right to seek information and remains committed to transparency and accountability. The institution urges responsible public commentary that protects the integrity of ongoing investigations and the rights of all persons concerned.

One of the major Conversations that landed the Ex VP into Trouble:

“In the intercepted call, Bashiru brought two other people onto the line. The first man, speaking with a heavy South American accent, asked, "Boss, I don't understand why you guys turned power over that quickly."

Jewel replied, "I understand. The Papay was angry with the way our people behaved."
Bashiru then asked, "Why didn't you people stop him?" to which Jewel explained, "I wasn't even around. I spoke to them immediately after I heard he had called President Boakai."

The South American man then said, "If you people hadn't turned power over, by now we would be doing our business." Jewel simply acknowledged, "Yes oh."
Then Bashiru added, "But the people sent something for you, boss." Jewel asked, "Where is it?" and he promised to bring it over the weekend.

That was the entire conversation.
