Liberian Referee Emmanuel Mensah Selected for 2026 U-17 AFCON in Morocco

The Liberia Football Association is excited to announce that Referee Emmanuel Mensah has been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate at the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, taking place from 13 May April to 2 June, 2026.

Referee Mensah is one of 23 center referees selected for this prestigious tournament.

The 2026 TotalEnergies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations is the 16th edition (21st if editions without hosts are included) of the annual African youth football tournament organized by CAF for players aged 17 and below.

Sixteen national teams are competing for the championship and secure one of the top 10 qualification spots for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

Mensah's selection comes a year after his selection by CAF as one of the match officials of the 2025 U20 AFCON held in Egypt.

The LFA remains committed to supporting referees, ensuring fair play, integrity, and professionalism at all levels of the game.

12 People Charged and Sent to Court Over Red-Light Naked Woman Attack..

Liberia National Police has charged 12 people for their involvement in a violent incident at Red-Light last week. The group allegedly attacked and stripped a Liberian woman in public after accusing her of dressing “immodestly.”

Videos of the incident spread widely and caused strong public reaction. The accused persons have now been taken to the Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice, while police continue their investigation.

Emmanuel Flomo has signed a short term agency deal with French Angency Ya’ats Sports.

The Agency is tasked with representing Flomo in negotiating football deals until September 1, 2026.

The Agency already have players in Strasbourg, Paris fc, Nice, Lens fc, Dijon, Bastia, monza, Como and Basel.

Flomo is having a fantastic season at Sudanese side Al Hilal but is dreaming big just like any kid.

Ya’ats is tasked with bringing that dream to life in other for a permanent Managerial contract.

The Agency hierarchy recently met with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Madam Cornelia Kruah during her trip to France where they expressed interest in venturing into the Liberian football market.
