People's Liberation Party National Youth Assembly demands the resignation of its political leader, Dr. Daniel Cassell; says the current criminal charges against him, portrays negative image of the party.

The Youth Assembly Secretary General Kelvin Volar urged Dr. Cassell to step aside until he is cleared of the criminal indictment against him.

According to Volar, the decision came after a heated meeting with party executives and officials that lasted for over four hours at the Rose Garden Plaza in central Monrovia.

He noted that the criminal case against Dr. Cassell has a serious negative impact on the party and its supporters across the world.

President Weah Appoints Board Members Of River Gee Vocational Institute

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah has appointed an eleven-member non-statutory Board of Trustee of River Gee County Vocational and Technical Training Institute.

President Weah made the appointment Thursday, October 13, 2022 pursuant to Article VI Section 1 of the Act that created the Institution.

Those appointed include Mr. Moses S. Geeplay, Mr. Christian S. Chea, Mrs. Regina Vinton, Mr. Shadrach Teah, Mr. Williams Quaye, Mr. Chowolo Dickson, Madam Phebe Botiah, and Mr. George Kayee. Other members of the Board are Mr. S. Tayee Toe, Mr. Chea Cheapo, Jr. as well as Mr. Babbi Geeplay.

Messrs. Moses S. Geeplay and Christian S. Chea will serve as Chairman and Co-Chairman respectively.

The appointed Board Members are directed to begin the formation process of the newly established institution.

The Chief Justice of the republic of Liberia, Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh begins on tough footing; suspends 5th judicial circuit court Judge Sikajipo Wollor; dismisses the Clerk of Montserrado Tax Court, Webster Wreh for unethical conduct

Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh has taken drastic actions against two judicial employees for unethical conduct.

They include: the presiding Judge of the fifth judicial circuit court Sikajipo Wollor, who was suspended, while Webster Wreh, the Clerk of the Tax Court for Montserrado County was dismissed with immediate effect.

The decision of the Chief Justice is based upon complaint of unethical misconduct filed against the two judicial employees.

House Cites MOPP, CRC, Golden SIFCA Monday

The Honorable House of Representatives has cited the Maryland Oil Palm Plantation, Cavalla Rubber Corporation, and Golden Sifca to appear before its leadership Monday, 10th October.

The respective companies are expected to address the House’s leadership on the following; general operations of their company, welfare of workers, good healthcare, education, good housing facilities, clinic, sanitation, and safety measures.

The House’s leadership is also interested in ascertaining from the Companies the top management-percentage of Liberians in their employed and the audited financial statement, revenue generation since 2018 till now.

The meeting will take place at 12:00noon, first floor Conference Room at the House of Representatives.

MOPP involves farming a plantation of oil palms granted under a concession agreement signed on 4th March 2011, The Golden SIFCA INCORPORATED (GSI) is involved with the processing of Oil Palm, while the Cavalla Rubber Corporation is one of Liberia's largest rubber plantations.

Liberia is among 42 countries licensed by the Federation of World Football (FIFA) to televise the 2022 World Cup beginning November 20 in Doha, Qatar.

At a two-day workshop, held in Lomè Togo, for Heads of Broadcast stations from Africa, Mr. Alexndre Dujadin , Senior Manager of FIFA Media and Sales, inform the participants that this is the first time that FIFA and its partner, New World Television, have gather heads of Free to Air Television and Pay for Channel Television Stations to review and agree on the Terms and Conditions of the Rights to broadcast the World Event.

He told participants that FIFA had given rights to over 200 Television stations in the World, and Africa has 42 of those rights.

"It will be a moment that these stations will bring emotions to their many audiences and be ambassadors of peace through football ."

The FIFA Media Manager told the participants.

For his part, the Representative of the New World Television based in Lome, Togo, Mr. Louis Biyao , said Free to Air Stations that have been granted the Rights must work through their domestic laws to fight piracy.

He underscored FIFA willingness to work with local stations to geoblock unauthorized users of the rights .

Mr. Richard Dimosi , Chief Executive Officer of The MBS and Chief Exclusive Commercial Agent for New World Television operating FIFA broadcast servicing to African broadcasters, urged participants to make the minimum use of the opportunity to harness revenue and be an absolute satisfaction to their viewers.

This is the first World Cup in the Winter, the first world cup in the Middle East, and the first World Cup to be held in one City, Doha, with eight stadiums.

Thirty-two nations will participate in the event, and Sixty-four games will be played.

Orange Liberia is the official sponsor of the event in Liberia.

President Weah Signed into Law Nation Census Join Resolution & Small Arms Act.

Monrovia, Liberia - The president of the Republic of Liberia, H,E Dr. George M Weah, on September 14, 2022, sign into Law critical legal instruments aimed at enhancing the Country,
's Governance process.

The two Liga instruments include did John Resolution of the National Legislature for the conduct of the National housing and population census and the Act to repeal the Liberia commission on Small Arms.

The Senate and the Representative recently passed the Joint Resolution authorizing the Executive branch of Government to conduct the Nation Census to October 24th to November 7th 2022.
The Act to repeal creating the Liberia National commission on small Arms it replaced with an Act establishing the Liberia National commission on Arms.

The Liberia National Legislature recently forwarded the two instruments to the office of the president for his signature, and he did on September 14th.
