The Rescue Mission Campaign announces that the Standard Bearer, Amb. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, will lead a Rescue Team including Rescue Mother, Sen. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, and Rescue Auntie MacDella Cooper for a two day-trip in the Sub-Region on September 13, 2023.

Pending the return of the Rescue Father and his team on September 15, 2023, Rescue 2 Sen. Jeremiah Kpan Koung assisted by National Campaign Manager, Sen. Prince K. Moye and Sen. Abraham Darius Dillon will lead the Campaign and continue the preparations for the September 17, Green Day.

Rescue Father calls on all supporters to join him and the team on September 17 at the ATS for the big day.

President Weah Begins B**g County Engagement Amid Rousing Welcome, Dedicating New Salala Market

B**g County: The President of the Republic and Standard-bearer of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Dr. George Manneh Weah arrived in B**g County Monday, September 11, to a tulmutous welcome by throngs of citizens first at Nyanforlah, Salala District, Distinct #6 before cruising through a plethora of towns and villages of the central province.

The President's visit is in continuation of his nationwide citizens engagement exercises aimed at consolidating national support for his reelection in the 2023 general and presidential elections.

The President hit B**g County also carrying out official duties with the dedication of a new market building in Salala, fulfilling yet another development milestone that rekindles the marketers' hope.

Flanked by officials of government, as well as leaders of the Salala Marketing Association, President Weah cut the ribbon to the building and later toured it, while expressing appreciation to the citizens for cooperating with the team that constructed the market.

The Salala Market is in fulfillment of promise made during his county tour when market women and citizens appealed to him for a market structure.

The project is implemented by the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment in collaboration with the President Delivery Unit (PDU).

As late as 8pm, the president and entourage arrived in Gbartala, where swarms of residents - elderly and youth - had waited for the party for most of the day.

Frenzy of celebrations - dancing, singing, chanting battle cries - that consumed the quiet of the relatively populous town hardly diminished throughout the day prior to the president's arrival.

As is often the case with all of his campaign tours, the president was heaped with praises and commendations for a successful first term, something the citizens of Gbartala said make him worthy for reelection.

Official Press statement by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA)

Monrovia, September 12, 2023: The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency confirmed the testing of herbal plants packaged in natural form at the Roberts International Airport to contained a presence of methamphetamine.

As part of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency's initial scientific investigation on samples of these natural plants, the examination results revealed the presence of illicit drug, which is contained under the United Nations table/listing for illegal narcotic drugs.

With immediate effect, the LDEA is initiating a full-scale investigation into the importation and illegal possession of said narcotic drug and will involve all those that may have links directly or indirectly. The public can be assured that our effort will leave no stone untouched as we endeavor to bring the perpetrator to book.

In so doing, we will keep the public updated as progress is made on the investigation. We therefore called on members of the public to refrained from initiating any act of misinformation and disinformation that has the propensity to prejudice the ongoing investigation.

The government of Liberia through the ministry of Information has informed the public about the unsuspected boxes that was arrested at the Robert International Airport.

Monrovia, September 12, 2023: The Ministry of Justice, through the Joint Security of Liberia, has confirmed that the consignment of boxes it intercepted containing
herbal plants - packaged and in natural form - at the Roberts International Airport reveals a presence of methamphetamine.

As part of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency's investigation, which included scientific examination, samples tested revealed the presence of the illicit drug, which is banned under the rules of United Nations Office of Drugs and Crimes, UNODC.

The Minister of Justice Cllr. Frank Musah Dean Jr. has with immediate effect ordered the Joint Security of Liberia, as well as the LDEA, LNP and the NSA, to expand their investigations on the importation of the illegal drugs with the aim of bringing to justice all those involved.

The public will be duly updated as progress is made on the investigation and in the wider fight against illicit drugs and transnational criminals.
