Shaita Angels FC President Benita Whitney Urey response to LFA allegation 👇......
"The Liberia Football Association (LFA) Grievance and Disciplinary Committee has issued a claim alleging my involvement in match manipulation. I categorically reject and denounce this claim as false, misleading, and politically motivated.
This baseless accusation is clearly intended to target me because of my open support for Cassell A. Kuoh’s presidential bid. The so‑called ban is founded on mere speculation and gossip, with no proof, no evidence, and not a single individual coming forward to claim that I ever gave them money.
As a young woman striving to make an impact in Liberian football, I refuse to be discouraged by such unfounded allegations. I have never once communicated with any Paynesville FC player regarding matching fixing as claimed by the FA. Therefore, I will appeal this decision and pursue all necessary legal actions to defend my integrity and the reputation of all opposition team leaders as we have become a constant target by this current football government.
It is important to note the double standards at play: When LISCR FC defeated Shaita FC 6–1, there were no calls for match‑fixing investigations. When LISCR lost to Freeport FC to save Freeport from relegation, there were no calls for match‑fixing either.
Yet, in this instance, the Committee has chosen to act without evidence, further exposing the bias behind this decision.
Despite this politically driven ruling, supported by Mr. Raji, Shaita Angels will continue to stand firm. We will vote against Raji because Liberian football urgently needs development, transparency, and improvement.
Mr. Raji must now understand that the line has been drawn. I will not be controlled or silenced by anyone who believes football belongs to them alone, leaving no space for others to contribute.
I am a young woman who grew up in Careysburg and I will continue to empower young footballers from my city. I will take this case to the law to the fullest extent.
Signed,
Benita Whitney Urey
CEO/President, Shaita Angels"
