Kansualism B. Kansuaah Pen Bleeds for a new Liberia.. He writes ✍️✍️✍️
“Liberia First, Always”
Fellow Liberians,
In just a few months, our beloved nation will mark 178 years of existence. This is no small journey — it is a story of resilience, struggle, survival, and hope. But as we prepare to celebrate this historic milestone, we must also pause and reflect with honesty and courage.
We, the people of Liberia, have wounded ourselves.
We have killed one another, burned our own communities, and turned our backs on unity.
We have allowed corruption, division, and immorality to seep into the core of our society.
We have looked outward to foreign nations to fix what we must first fix within.
And yet, through it all — Liberia still stands.
But let us be clear: Liberia is not reconciled. We live in a country where peace exists without unity, and democracy exists without compassion. Many still value political parties more than the nation itself. But let this truth echo through every county, every village, every home:
Political parties can dissolve. Liberia cannot.
Liberia is our only home. She is not red, blue, or green. She is not UP, CDC, or any other party. She is Liberia — one nation, under God, indivisible, and irreplaceable.
Let us then rise above the pettiness, the bitterness, and the divisions that have held us back for too long. Let us begin a new chapter of national healing, moral renewal, and collective rebuilding.
I want to express sincere appreciation to His Excellency, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr, for taking a bold and symbolic step toward healing this nation. The reburial of our national leaders — men who served our country in times of both progress and pain — was not just a ceremonial act. It was an act of patriotism, reconciliation, and humility.
While we may not agree with every decision made by past leaders, we must honor the fact that they led, they served, and they were Liberians. I had the privilege of being in Grand Gedeh during the reburial events. I listened to our people. I saw their emotions. And like them, I say, “Thank you, Mr. President.” Your actions go beyond politics. They remind us that you serve Liberia, not just a political party.
To those who continue to place party above country: the time has come to stop.
Now is the moment to think Liberia, love Liberia, and build Liberia.
Let us protect her.
Let us care for her.
Let us raise our voices and hands not in hatred or greed — but in hope and hard work.
We owe this to our ancestors.
We owe it to our children.
We owe it to Liberia.
Long live our land of liberty. Long live the spirit of reconciliation. Long live the Republic of Liberia.
