Monrovia, Liberia —The Liberia’s Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Jerolinmek Matthew Piah, has confirmed that President Joseph Nyuma Boakai will commence his long-awaited county tour in March 2026.
According to Minister Piah, the tour—branded as the President’s nationwide “Thank You Tour”—will officially begin once a fleet of earth-moving machines arrives in the country.
The President’s visit to the counties will coincide with the presentation of heavy-duty construction equipment to local authorities, aimed at strengthening road rehabilitation, infrastructure development, and sanitation services across Liberia.
285 Machines En Route from China
The Government of Liberia has disclosed that a total of 285 yellow machines, along with all supporting equipment, are expected to arrive in the country by March.
Additional logistics information indicates:
• Sea travel time: Approximately 45 days from China to Liberia
• Loading deadline: All vessels are scheduled to be fully loaded by January 20, 2026
•Delivery window: The shipping company has been granted a 70-day delivery period
A Major Infrastructure Push
The arrival of the equipment marks a significant milestone in President Boakai’s infrastructure development agenda, particularly for rural communities that continue to face challenges with road connectivity, drainage systems, and public works.
The “Thank You Tour” is expected to serve not only as a gesture of appreciation to Liberians for their support, but also as a platform to showcase tangible government action in every county.
More details on the county-by-county schedule are expected to be announced by the Ministry of Information in the coming weeks..
