VP Koung Appreciates Longtime Friend, Donates USD 10,000 at Ganta Business Community Program

Ganta City, Nimba County β€” December 28, 2025 Liberia’s Vice President, Jeremiah Koung, has expressed deep appreciation to his longtime friend and prominent businessman popularly known as Papa by presenting him with a cheque worth USD 10,000.

The presentation took place during an appreciation program organized by the Vice President to honor the Ganta business community on his farm along the ganta Monrovia highway. The event brought together business owners, community leaders, and residents to recognize the role of commerce in the growth and development of the city.

While making the presentation, Vice President Koung reflected on the humble beginnings he shared with Papa, recounting their journey and the support he received from his friend over the years. He described the gesture as a symbol of gratitude rather than repayment.

β€œI know this money is little, but hold it and let’s keep moving,” the Vice President said, emphasizing the importance of loyalty, perseverance, and mutual support.

The donation was met with applause from attendees, many of whom praised the Vice President for acknowledging personal relationships and the contributions of local businesspeople to national development.

The appreciation program formed part of Vice President Koung’s broader engagement with the Ganta business community, aimed at strengthening cooperation between government leadership and the private sector for sustainable economic progress.

Ganta City - The Liberia National Police Ganta detail under the leadership of Mr. Christopher Mansuo has arrested and sent to jail a notorious criminal (Junior Dahn) who is allegedly link to the robbery of a Six Hundred Thousand Liberian Dollars on the Ganta main street in the month of October.

In some parts of October, a lady and her husband traveling from Sinoe to Monrovia entered Ganta at about 8:30 pm where the driver decided offloading other passengers load before picking up for the nation's capital.
While sitting by the car right Infront of the Mickie's Bar and restaurant, the alleged Junior Dahn along other criminals broke into the lady and her husband with cutlesses and took away their phones and others materials including the total amount of 600,000LD.

Meanwhile, Junior Dahn and his colleagues have been on the run since October.
According to the Police charge sheets and other records, Junior Dahn goes by the name: "Street Network" is a noted criminal who escaped the Sanniquellie prison and has been wanted by the police since three months ago.

When interrogated by the CID office, he has rubbished the allegation of being guilty of the alleged crime level against him.

Meanwhile, the Ganta Police Commander(Christopher Mansuo) has assured Liberians and citizens of Ganta and it's environs that they remain steadfast to commiting themselves for the safety of Ganta and it's citizens.

NCSSC Chairman Responds to Concerns About Female Representation and Diaspora Inclusion

Nimba County – The Chairman of the 2025–2026 Nimba County Sports Steering Committee (NCSSC), Mr. Alphonso Glaydor , has acknowledged recent comments and concerns raised by citizens regarding the inclusion of women on both the District League Committee and the National County Sports Meet Committee, as well as representation of the Nimba Diaspora.

Chairman Glaydor assures the public that female inclusion remains a top priority. He disclosed that consultations are currently ongoing with several qualified women across the county, and their appointments will be announced in the coming days. He reaffirmed his strong belief in gender balance, emphasizing that there is no intention to sideline the talented and capable women of Nimba County from leadership roles within the sports sector.

In addition, the Chairman addressed concerns about Diaspora representation, revealing that plans are underway to hold a Zoom meeting with citizens of Nimba residing abroad. This meeting will serve as a platform for the Diaspora community to nominate individuals to serve on the committee, ensuring their voices and contributions are recognized in this year’s national effort.

Chairman Glaydor further clarified that the appointments released thus far represent only the first phase, and he is actively working behind the scenes to finalize the next batch of appointments aimed at strengthening the county's sports administration.

LDEA SINOE COUNTY DETACHMENT ARRESTS SUSPECTED DRUG DEALER IN KARQUEKPO TOWN

Sinoe County, May 27, 2025
In a continued effort to combat illegal drug activities across Liberia, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Sinoe County Detachment executed a successful operation in Karquekpo Town, Dugbe River District.

At approximately 7:00 AM, a team of LDEA officers led by the Chief of Operations carried out a writ of search and seizure at the residence of Joseph Fallah, a 49-year-old Liberian national and member of the Kissi tribe. The operation led to the confiscation of, One (1) ounce of Kush, valued at approximately USD $560.00 or LRD 106,400.00
6,000 grams of Ma*****na, valued at approximately USD $72.00 or LRD 13,680.00

Suspect Joseph Fallah has been investigated, formally charged, and forwarded to court for a speedy trial in accordance with Liberian law.
