The Federation of International Football Associations , FIFA, has approved US$50,000 for the Liberia Football Association (LFA) for its women’s lower league development.
The Liberia Football Association in statement said; It applied to FIFA women’s development program for the funds in March 2021 and was approved a year later.
The LFA says, US$13,920 will be divided among the 11 clubs in the lower women’s division (US$1,160 per club) as assistance for players’ transportation for training and rental of buses to honor league games.
The FA statement further indicated that the rest of the funds will be used for several activities towards the development of the league under the supervision of the women’s football committee headed by it's Executive Committee member Madam Jodie Reid-Seton.
"Those activities include; marketing and administrative seminars for personnel of clubs, refresher course for coaches, refresher and training courses for old and new female referees, indemnities for referees, payment of stipend to former female players who have turned to coaches and continuous coaching education for former female players engaged with clubs" the statement is quoted as saying.
The Liberia Football Association on its own stated a second strain of women's football in 2019, but the league was cutoff due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The FA continue her fight with the 2020-21 Lower women's league season wherein City Academy became the champions for the very first.
The 2021-22 league season is at the verge of climaxing with LEAD Monrovia Football Academy at the top of the table.
