Security Measures Announced for Former President Weah’s Arrival at RIA…
MONROVIA, Liberia – The Liberia Airport Authority (LAA), through its Aviation Security Department (ASD), has announced special security measures ahead of the arrival of former President George M. Weah on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
The Airport Authority has advised passengers traveling through the Roberts International Airport (RIA) on that day to arrive earlier than their normal scheduled time to avoid possible delays.
Well-wishers planning to welcome the former President have been instructed to gather at the RIA Public School, with only designated persons approved by the former President’s Organizing Committee allowed to go beyond that point.
The LAA also said Joint Security will regulate both vehicle and pedestrian movement around the airport and has urged the public to follow all instructions from security officers.
Despite the special security measures, the Airport Authority assured the public that normal airport operations will continue.
The Aviation Security Department thanked the public for its understanding and cooperation as preparations continue for the former President’s arrival.
