Press Statement for Immediate Release

(Monrovia, Liberia) The Leadership of the Legislative Press Pool- LEGISPOOL, congratulates, Mrs. Estelle Liberty- Kemoh, as Director General Designate, of the Liberia Broadcasting System.
Mrs. Kemoh, Former President of LEGISPOOL, was recently appointed by President George Weah as Director General Designate of LBS, replacing Mr. Ledgerhood Rennie.
Prior to her appointment, the Former LEGISPOOL President, served LBS as Deputy Director General for Administration.
LEGISPOOL hopes, Madam Kemoh, will live up to the trust and confidence reposed in her by President Weah.
Meanwhile, LEGISPOOL, calls on the Senate Committee on Information and Broadcasting to confirm the LBS nominee.

Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor flown out of Liberia to seek medical care following diagnosis of respiratory complications

Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor was on Tuesday, flown out of the country to seek additional medical care at a specialist hospital in Accra, Ghana.

According to a press release from the office of the vice president, VP Howard-Taylor was earlier admitted at the Aspen Medical Facility, in Sinkor, Monrovia, on Friday of last week, due to respiratory complications.

Having favorably responded to treatment and the state of her health stabilized, it was advised that the Vice President seeks further medical attention at a more advanced facility with specialty in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory ailments, the release notes.

2020 /2021 BUDGET HEARING COMMENCES THIS WEEK
The Legislature will begin deliberations on the 2020/2021 Draft National Budget Monday August 10.

The Joint Committee on Ways , Means , & Finance and Public Accounts of the Honorable House of Representatives will entertain Public presentations from heads of about forty two (42) Government agencies between August 10 to September 2 before submitting a report to the Plenaries of the House and Senate respectively.

Documents needed for Revenue Hearings are ; Revenue Performance Report, MFDP & LRA
Performance Reports for FY 2019/20 and Annual Budget for 2020/2021

There will be a fifteen (15) minute presentation by each agency outlining the legal framework and mandate of said agency , specific PAPD programs, fiscal deficiency report , current projects and programs in the Budget with supporting evidence of expenditures for the out going budget 2019/2020 .
The public and Press will cover the expenditure Component of the hearing .
