Monrovia, Liberia – July 22, 2025
Lofa County Senator Momo Cyrus has donated a significant consignment of rain gear to the Liberia National Police (LNP) to support officers working under harsh weather conditions.
The donation, which includes 500 raincoats and 1,000 reflective jackets, was officially presented to the LNP at a brief ceremony. Senator Cyrus praised the police for their professionalism and dedication under the leadership of Inspector General Gregory Coleman. He pledged to continue advocating for increased budgetary support to the police in the upcoming 2026 national budget.
As we approach Independence Day, this gesture is part of my ongoing commitment to improving safety and supporting our security forces, Senator Cyrus stated. He also announced plans to donate 350 bags of rice and 150 additional rain gear items to the Joint Security in Lofa County as part of his July 26 giveaway.
Receiving the donation, Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman thanked the senator, describing the gesture as a timely show of support. He emphasized that the rain gear will enhance officer visibility and safety, especially amid increasing reports of road accidents during the rainy season.
This donation not only supports our officers in the field but also shows that our efforts are being recognized and appreciated, IG Coleman remarked.
The presentation underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between lawmakers and national security agencies to improve public safety across Liberia.
