It is frustrating and disappointing to watch all our efforts end in termination. We put a lot on hold and had sleepless nights trying to ensure things went well, but ultimately, we got it all wrong. It is true, I never congratulated SIO and Lib Muzik during or after the signing ceremony.
But I couldn’t congratulate them without seeing or hearing from their camp on how things went; if both parties are satisfied, mostly the artiste because he’s my interest. And when found out, he and his team were not happy, I got disturbed.
I connected these folks because I trusted both parties; I trusted SIO's talent and Al Johnson's leadership and financial support.
‘SIO has been around for years as an artiste and he knows what’s good for him. Also, Al Johnson has worked with great talents for years, he knows what he wants too.’
I saw some level of loyalty, love, respect and trust between both sides, but business is business.
While I may not know everything about the music business, I believe having a signing ceremony before signing an artist through legal documents is a wrong move. And that is exactly what happened.
In reality, if things don't go as expected in such case, the final result turns out messy for both the label and the artiste.
However, avoiding future problems, it was fair that they parted ways since they couldn't compromise each other's interests.
SIO is a great talent, let’s support him.
Lib Muzik is a great label, let’s respect and support their artistes.
