On November 21, 2025, the Student Leadership of Tubman University were privileged for an acquaintance meeting with Hon. Rep Frank Saah Foko Jr. The meeting was mostly centered on acquaintancy and friendly interaction.
During the meeting, we (student leaders) collectively thanked Hon. Foko for considering the need to interact with us, and at the said time acknowledged him about some challenges facing students at Tubman University, like poor transport service, poor internet (Wi-Fi service), lack of PH system for students' programs across the various colleges, lack of support from LINSU, limited classrooms, the need for student representation on the TU Board of Trustees, and lastly, Humanization of Public Universities' Fees.
Hon. Foko in response inspired student leaders by his life journey as a product of struggle, and at the same time encouraged students to remain focused, diligent, discipline, and resilience in the pursuit of Academic Excellence, noting that there is truly a better life ahead.
Moreover, Hon. Foko assured the student leadership that he will make a well sophisticated PH system and Reliable Starlink Wi-Fi Service available for students of Tubman University at his own expense, in response to our request.
For the rest of the other issues, Hon. Foko assured us that he will engage with members of the Liberia National Legislature during regular sessions for prompt intervention, especially concerning the need to harmonize public universities' fees, provision of reliable transport service, etc.
Again, for and on behalf of my fellow student leaders and all students of Tubman University, it’s with the greatest honor as I extend my profound gratitude to Hon. Foko for considering our request for an acquaintance interaction and making incredible commitment (promises) necessary to take our university and student community to the next level of progress!
