NEC Liberia acknowledges that one of the 6 trucks transporting electoral materials for next Tuesday's Senatorial By - election in Nimba County had a breakdown Friday, 18 April as a result of clutch failure.
The Commission however, assures the public, especially the people of Nimba, that the remaining 5 trucks containing sensitive electoral materials including ballots have since arrived at the NEC Magisterial Offices in Lower and Upper Nimba
The 1 truck in question with License Plate # C-5211 broke down along the Gbarnga Highway, with Liberia National Police officers and NEC security onboard.
The Commission discloses that only translucent ballot boxes containing stationery items such as, ruler, stamp, scissors, pens, lamps, batteries, ballot box stickers, notepads and rubberbands to be used to set up polling places are onboard the truck.
This afternoon, the Commission through its Operations Department began transporting all electoral materials from its Central Warehouse on 9th Street, Sinkor for the Nimba Senatorial By-election.
